The ‘Introduction to robotics’ online course is a study about the state-of-the-art technologies and techniques associated with designing robots and their applications. This National Program for Technology Enhanced Learning(NPTEL) free online course on robotics is provided on the Swayam online education platform. The online training is offered by the faculty of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
The program is conducted for twelve weeks and is a core course for the undergraduate and postgraduate level students of design engineering or robotics. The course instructors of this certification program are Dr. T Asokan from the department of engineering design, Prof. Balaraman Ravindran teaching computer science, and Dr. Krishna Vasudevan of the electrical engineering department. This AICTE approved faculty development program enables the students to receive three credits after completing the online training.
