  • Safety assurance, Safety in design and operations.

  • Organizing for safety, Hazard classication and assessment.

  • Hazard evaluation and control, Hazop, FMEA.

  • Dose assessment, safety regulations, Toxic releases- models and methods.

  • Chemical risk analysis, Quantitative risk assessment.

  • Fire and explosion models, Flammability diagrams.

  • Fire and explosion: prevention methods, Event tree and fault tree analyses.

  • Process safety management, Software used in HSE.

Evaluation process

The students must write an examination and qualify with a minimum of 25% in the assignments and 75% on the written exam, out of a total of 100 marks. The examination fee is Rs 1000.
