Hello Everyone I am a first year B.Sc Mathematical Sciences student from Du. Should I learn Data Structures and Algorithms and Competitive programming. Bcz I want to become Data Scientist but wants a job after graduation also. So , Please tell me what to do ?
Hi Aspirant,
BSc in Mathematical Science is a great step for your journey as Data Scientist. It will also be a great step to learn Data Structures and do competitive programming. Now keeping it short let me tell what is needed to be a Data Scientist:
Data Scientist = Mathematics + Statistics + Programming language + Machine Learning and AI + Analytical Skills.
And for jobs in the current scenario, a lot of software engineers and mathematicians have self-taught themselves to fit into the role of data scientist. Many companies including big firms and startups are coming up with the openings of data science, and this seems to be the right time to dive into the field.

Hello everyone I am pursuing B.sc Mathematical Sciences from DU. Which field could be better for me Data Science or Web Development ? Please tell me .
Hey,
Data science is basically extraction of various form of data from available structured or unstructured data. You need to apply this date over various application domains. It will need algorithms, process and scientific methods. Web development, on a general note, is designing of website. Both these fields are good in terms of prospects, career opportunities. You need to figure out your interest and in which field you have more passion or your knowledge lies greatly in which field, and make a choice accordingly.

can I pursue master degree from Delhi University without entrance ? I am pursuing my bachelors degree from Maharaj Agrasen College in B.sc program mathematical sciences
Hello,
Admission to master's degree courses in Delhi University is conducted in two ways, first on the basis of the merit of the qualifying examination which is specifically for students of delhi university and since maharaj agrasen college is a constituent college of delhi university, hence if you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the course for which you want to apply, you can skip the entrance test which is for admission of candidates not belonging to delhi university.
is it better to take admission in b.sc program mathematical sciences from DU (Maharaj Agrasen College). Any scope for this?
Hello Student,
Maharaj agrasen college of Delhi University, this institution ranked 45th across india by NIRF ranking in 2020.
Department of mathematical science has very good record in this institution. The department organizes various lectures to provide exposure to students about newer development in the subject. Workshops are also conducted.faculty members are well educated and well experienced here.
See,this college made a well reputation for its best teaching learning practices, quality education
but obviously I would suggest that, rank your priorities of good Colleges while choosing any college.
And if you are asking about the scope of the branch, then I would say that there is a lots of goodopportunities in this field actually.
After the graduation, you can go for higher studies.
You can get job in the industries like...
Finance, Education, Insurance, Corporate Houses, IT, Data Analysis, Banking, Government Jobs (Central and State Govt. Jobs).
Also there are many more opportunities...but yes... everything depends on your interest regarding field.
and If you are a hard working student, then
You will definitely give your best in this course.
Good luck!!!

Hello Everyone I am a B.Sc Mathematical Sciences student of DU. I am interested in Python programming language and want to become a data scientist. In my college no company is coming for placements. For being placed what should I do? How can I get a job in Google, Microsoft and Amazon?
Its great to know youre interested in the IT/Software/Analytics Service Sector. What I would suggest you is after B.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences, you must pursue MCA from some of the Best NITs or Top Public or Private Universities having strong Placement Prospects. Especially the NITs, you need to ace the NIMCET Examination followed by securing Admission in MCA, and hence a strong career in the IT/Software/Services Industry.
Other Option could be pursuing a M.Sc./MS in Quantitative Economics, Mathematics & Statistics or Computational Sciences from Eminent Institutes like ISI Kolkata and its branches like ISI Delhi. ISI Kolkata and New Delhi, really have Good Placements. And after M.Sc. or after some years of Work experience post M.Sc., if seriously interested, you may even pursue M.Tech in CS/Mathematics & Computing/ Data Science from some of the Top Institutes in India.
Hello Everyone Im a student of 1st year in B.Sc Mathematical Sciences from Maharaja Agrasen College (University of Delhi). I want to become a Data Scientist. Please tell me how can I go further and is big industry come in my college . For placements. If not then how can I go for it. Please tell me.
See after BSc getting a job is very fussy. Although you can try but as you said you want to become Data Scientist then you have to data science. Now for that you can do a MSc in Data Science or Mathematical Statistics.
There is a exam called IIT JAM which offers admission to Mathematical Statistics MSc course in IIT;s which you can pursue. As you know IIT's have great placement cells as well as you will get the knowledge from the best of the teachers in India. Also your dream of Data Science will come under this.
The second option is Master of Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute. The MStat program is really a unique and imparts a lot of knowledge in computational statistics. You can become the part of the fatternity of the best of the mathematicians in India as well as you can fulfil your dream of being a Data Scientist.
Now if you want to go for Data Science then you can pursue MSc Data Science course offers by some of the colleges in India like Chennai Mathematical Institute, Ramkrishna Mission College etc.
Also you can go for MCA courses with specialization in Data Science. Now depending on your interest you have to choose the pathways. There are a infinite possibility of ways to be a data scientist, I mentioned some of the most certain ways to be one.
MAC didn't have any data available online for BSc Mathematics Placements but as per the official the companies visiting the college are:
- Prime Focus
- Vistara
- Oyo
- Yatra
- Vibgyor
- Genre 8
- Go Air
- Zee
- DEN
- Travel Triangle
I would recommend you to keep in mind about the MSc because getting a job after BSc is quite uncertain.
Some of the universities offering MSc Data Science:
- Vellore Institute of Technology
- Chandigarh University
- Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta
- Rathinam Group of Institutions, Coimbatore
- Shardha University
- Loyola College, Chennai
- GD Geonka University, Gurgaon
- Coimbatore Institute of Technology
- Fergusson college, Pune

I have completed my M.tech in Computer Science. But I am more interested in Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Am I eligible to take UGC NET or CSIR NET exam related to Physics or Mathematics subjects?
Hi aspirant,
For UGC NET exam, a candidate must secure at least 55% marks in master degree or equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities/colleges in Humanities including languages and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. The 55 % marks should be without rounding off.
For CSIR UGC NET exam, candidates must possess M.Sc. or equivalent degree or Integrated BS-MS or BS-4 years or BE, B Tech , B. Pharma or MBBS with at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for the exam.
So you can definitely apply for these exams
Hope that helps.

can I give any government exams after b.sc program mathematical sciences like state government and central government exams? please help me experts. or I have to pursue any hons course like b.sc cs hons
Greetings,
\Most government exams (if they re not related to a technical field) only require a basic graduation in any discipline and there is no such need or requirement for an honors course to be pursued. Exams like UPSC and State PSC are the most prevalent government exams and they only need a graduation with no minimum percentage requirements.
good luck
