AITM, Belgavi, is a prominent institution that offers a wide range of engineering and technology programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs. The admission process of the deserving and talented candidates strictly follows the merit of the institution and well-laid admission procedures.
The admission procedures at AITM generally start by May-June for the academic calendar beginning in August-September. The applications are entertained on the basis of scores from various national and state-level entrance tests as per the program with regard to the application procedure. The admission to undergraduate engineering programs is dependent mostly on KCET scores, whereas postgraduate admission through Karnataka PGCET covers MBA, MCA, and some selected MSc courses in Engineering; some admissions for postgraduate Engineering courses are made on the basis of GATE scores.
For the undergraduate programs, the minimum eligibility requirement is the passing of an examination at the level of 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Most courses are expected to have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks as the eligibility criteria for the qualifying examination. For the master's courses, a candidate must have earned his/her bachelor's degree in the relevant field with 55% to 60% marks or CGPA from a recognized university.
Application Process
The application procedures at AITM vary from program to program:
1. B.Tech programs – Qualify for KCET or COMEDK UGET examination. Register online for the relevant counseling process (KEA for KCET, COMEDK for UGET). Choose AITM and preferred courses during the counseling. If awarded a seat, report to AITM for verification of documents and fee payment.
2. For M.Tech, MBA, and MCA – Qualify Karnataka PGCET examination.
Register for the counseling process of PGCET from KEA.
Choose AITM and the desired course in counseling.
Complete the admission procedure at AITM in case of selection.
3. For diploma programs – Apply under the Karnataka DTE admission process.
Participate in the counseling carried out by DTE.
Complete the admission process at AITM if a seat is allotted.
It is strongly advised to periodically check with AITM and the respective examination authorities so as to be able to obtain the most recent information concerning deadlines of application, exam dates, and admission procedures.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Tech – Bachelor of Technology: AITM offers 9 full-time undergraduate engineering programs, to name some, Computer Science, and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics, and Communication Engineering, which are quite popular. The admission to B.Tech programs is entirely on the KCET performance. The institution also admits students through the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET). The total admission capacity in the B.Tech area is flexible, with Computer Science and Engineering having the maximum intake of 150 seats.
M.Tech – Master of Technology: The institute provides postgraduate programs in various specializations, such as Production Engineering and System Technology, and Waste Water Management Health and Safety Engineering. Admission to the M.Tech programs is based on the Karnataka PGCET scores. Some M.Tech programs also admit based on GATE scores. The normal intake for each M.Tech program is 12 seats.
MBA – Master of Business Administration: The MBA program, which has an intake capacity of 60 seats, is offered by AITM. The method of admission is through the Karnataka PGCET. The method of selection may also comprise some other processes like a written ability test (WAT) and personal interview (PI).
MCA – Master of Computer Applications: The MCA program of AITM has an intake of 30 seats. Admission is made via Karnataka PGCET.
Diploma: AITM provides diplomas in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Admission to the diploma courses is carried out as per the guidelines framed by the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Karnataka. Each diploma program has an existing intake of 30 seats.
The documents that are usually required for the admission process are the following:
Passport size photographs
10th and 12th marksheets and certificates
Degree certificates and marksheets (for postgraduate courses)
Entrance exam scorecard: KCET/COMEDK UGET/PGCET/GATE (as applicable)
Category certificate (if applicable)
Domicile certificate (if applicable)
Other relevant certificates mentioned by the institute or admission authority

I Completed civil engineering in this college. The quality of teaching is good and they train is about the current project what all currently running in the outside world. The college is having nice labs.
I completed Mechanical engineering in this college. The teaching faculty are amazing and very talented. Labs have sufficient equipment and well maintained. College infrastructure is too good it have bus facility through out the city.
