The college life is great. Great events, workshops, clubs, and different activities are held to provide a wonderful vibe to the students. The college is very well known for cricket and basketball. Mar Baselios became the first self financing college in Kerala to get placements from Microsoft. The amazing infrastructure, faculty and state of the art equipments ensure that the students are upto date with the advancements in the field of engineering. The college, which was accredited by both NBA and NAAC, is one of the most eco-friendly colleges in India.

College life is comparatively good when compare to other private colleges although the management is strict about the academics and discipline. The faculty is very friendly and supporting. The campus and the infrastructure provided is excellent. But we have limited freedom in expressing our views against any issues regarding the colleges and management. If you're more into academics MBCET is perfect for you. If you're here to enjoy your college life you've landed in the wrong place. But I can assure you that you'll get your best friends for life in here.

The college life is good but not awesome as it is run on discipline but still miss those days, the faculty were best and also the infrastructure of the College is one of its plus point.Regarding the placement the college failed to provide job opportunities from core company's for civil and mech but was successful in providing job for thoes interested in it sector.

MBCET is part of Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar. The college is affiliated to Kerala University. The location of the college is a prime factor. The infrastructure and the faculty are good. The corporate exposure needs to be improved. Separate hostel available for boys and girls.

It is one of the engineering colleges which puts emphasis on both education as well as co-curricular activities.. don't expect a hi funda college life there as it is a very disciplined institution.. their faculty is their strength. There is a strong bunch of faculty who are always ready to help you.. placements are a bit poor though.. being and institution with almost 15 years of experience, I personally think that they can bring in more companies

MBCET is an excellent college with a very good infrastructure and faculty. We get the opportunity to get exposed to new technology. The college placement unit is also efficient. The faculty is very friendly and they are always ready to satisfy our thirst for knowledge.

The overall experience was not bad. Hostel was very near to the college and the best part was the hostel experience I had. College infrastructure and teaching are one among the best. Industrial training and placements in related fields are very less like all other colleges. This is indirectly due to the fewer vacancies in the job in India.

Great Memory. A platform where I could mould myself into a professional and experienced hands-on experience in both career oriented and personal life. The infrastructure is satisfactory and scope for more improvements. The faculty is a mixed crowd majorly a younger crowd which has it's both pros & cons.

Review on Mar Baselios

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology provides its students with very good infrastructure and facilities. The faculties here are well experienced and dedicated. The management is pretty strict. Because of this, you wouldn't get to enjoy your college life much. Everything else is pretty good.

One could say its more of a school than a college...the administration with its strict rules ensure that we don't get to live our dream of a college life. A few of my friends amassed a lot of back papers just because of the lack of sessionals. But if you want an academic life alone and not the fun and happiness that comes with college life, you could easily get through the 4 years here.

All Work and No Play made me a Dull Engineer...

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The college itself is located atop the Bethany Hills far from traffic and noise. The campus is of average size but provides the barebone amenities like a medium sized auditorium, a small canteen, a cafeteria, well-equipped labs, e-clasrooms, a small gym, a basketball court and a ground (shared by two colleges and a school). Towards the end of 2014, wifi was enabled in campus for final year B.tech and the whole M.tech division like a beta program. The labs and classrooms were good but comparing it to many other colleges, it was lacking. The canteen and cafeteria were small and couldn't handle the large number of students and faculty that crowded around it during the extremely small recess. The auditorium was multi-functional and acted as a badminton court, storage area, meeting room etc. The lack of a ground was not felt as there was no time for games in between those hectic hours of work. A larger cafeteria and canteen with a better organized method of operation would've been great. Also the parking facility was excellent, at least for those who availed it. Industry exposure was poor, actually nearly no exposure to industry was provided by the college. Initiative for that should be taken from the side of the students and even if a group showed interest, the faculty was not very tolerant of it. Most of the initiatives were rejected by pointing out that portions for exams had to be covered. I think that the college should encourage students to go on more Industrial Visits and take initiative in it. The college being located at practically a hilltop made it scenic and serene, but the calmness ended at that. The faculty were extremely strict and the workload unbearable. The problem in my opinion was that focus was too much on exams and results rather than education itself. Most of the teachers were knowledgeable and wanted to pass it on properly thus crafting us all into excellent engineers but the primary goal being high pass percentage and marks made this impossible. Learning by practice is the best method for a profession like Engineering but this was not the case in our college. The whole blame for this cannot be on the faculty and college, the students are also partially responsible. The placement opportunity in the college was exceptional, if you were an average student with no back-papers then chances are that you would surely be placed. Reputed companies like MuSigma, InfoSys, MRF etc. came to our college and the college provided training for placement. There was an excellent placement cell and we would be notified of any and all placement opportunities in time. I personally received two offers one from MuSigma and the other from InfoSys. Both had great packages for freshers. College Hostel was excellent, it had spacious rooms, clean toilets, and bathrooms. The food was average. The only problem was drinking water which was filtered from a nearby pond, but most of the time the filters of the water dispensers were broken. Wifi was also being set up in the hostel. The college intakes students based on merit as well as in quotas like NRI. The students in merit seats had to pay a small fee (below one lakh) per year compared to some other colleges. Students with financial difficulties were provided with help. Considering everything I would recommend the college any student who wishes to secure good marks and a degree to join the college but if your goal is to become a good engineer, then you should work a lot to improve your skills on your own. If your only goal is to enjoy college life, then find another college.

The college has been the best place get graduated. The four years that I spent there has made me the person I am today. It has not only moulded me as a confident person but has opened all the possible windows of knowledge. We had the best faculties who stood by us to guide us in all possible ways. The faculties of our college are the strongest pillar that sustains our college. Our college does not believe just in education but moulds the talent within each one.The immense support that the management has given its students to bring out that talent is remarkable. To conclude up this institution has been the best platform for all the students to achieve their ambition and goals with a bunch of facilities always standing beside to support them at each step.

This is the only college I know of which cares a damn about its students. Probably the only place where you can go under sessional even if you have passed in every single internal exam. The college fest, well... A big joke. We had a college administrator, who considers himself as a god and that the entire world owes him a fortune..I lost my papers for the first time in the last semester bcoz of the kind attitude of my staff. It had been really hard the way forth. Thankfully I'm now a software engineer at IBM. So no worries. But I would never want this for anyone..not even on my enemies.

The college faculty and teaching is good. More like a school due to stringent rules: Strictly no ragging - Cannot cut classes. The fee is very high. The college has good labs for electronics. Placement training is provided by the college itself and almost all students (who has passed all exams) gets placed. Placement cell is very good and consists of staffs, not students.

Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
The campus of Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology is fairly top-notch and has adequate laboratories suited for research in software, electronics and related fields. The college life is calm and serene, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Interbranch, interstate, intercollegiate and inter-semester tournament participation in both educational and sports fields are highly encouraged and supported by both peers, seniors and faculty. Situated in a 300-acre college district, the recreational facilities in the college include volleyball, badminton and basketball courts. The college has an excellent hostel with a reading hall and TV room. The faculty for B. Tech includes postgraduates from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum and M. Tech faculty includes top brass of ISRO and other leading research centres across the nation. College placement rates are high every year, with Infosys as the major visiting company.

College is quite good for studious guys. Nothing much to tell about the college life...college is having a descent infrastructure...faculties are too good and friendly. Expect for the reason college conducts a cultural fest every year no other support for the extracurricular activities...Located in the centre of the city with good access to all means of transport , excellent lab facilities , very supportive faculty , very good placement cell, excellent placements in reputed firms, good academic records with regular university toppers .

I always think fondly about my college days. The college gave me immense opportunity to take part in university youth festival and that helped me bag lots of prizes ....(grade points too that got added to exam marks...yipeee) Without doubt its one of the first choice when comes to self-finance engineering institutions. I truly recommend my college to all.

my college is awesome with respect to the disciplined teaching style and highly organized management. Its the one the best preferred self finance college in Trivandrum for engineering studies. The best point is that its in center of city hence accessibility is quite good compared to other colleges . So i highly recommend my college to all the engineering aspirants out there.

I took admission in this college because many said that this is a good college. But from that day my boring life started. College management is very strict. They dont treat us as students. My friends studying in other colleges enjoy more freedom. Also they make us do hectic works. I dont recommend this college.
