MBCET Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a boys’ hostel that can accommodate around 350 students on a single room, twin sharing or dormitory basis. The MBCET boys’ hostel is equipped with well-furnished, spacious and air-cooled rooms with a separate area for living and study. The hostel has a common room for recreational facilities and it provides strict round-the-clock security.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a separate hostel for girls. MBCET girls’ hostel can accommodate around 250 students. The hostel girls’ hostel has shared rooms. Well-furnished, spacious and air-cooled rooms are available at the girls’ hostel.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a basic first-aid facility in the college medical clinic. Students, college staff and faculty members can access the medical facilities.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has 6 stations multi-gym for students on the campus. The gym is equipped with various gym equipment like chest press, leg press, pec-dec, rowing and lat pull, leg extension and twister.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a central library equipped with separate collections of reference books, standard, bound volumes of journals, technical reports, previous question papers, and CD-ROMs, DVDs, periodicals, etc. The library has a large collection of books, journals and non-book materials in science, engineering, technology, humanities, social science and management. Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology library is an institutional member of the UGC ESS e-ShodhSindhu consortium.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has various outdoor and indoor sports facilities. It also has sports facilities for games like badminton, basketball, table tennis, etc.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a central computing facility to cater to the general computing needs of both students and teachers. The CCF computer lab has 65 high-performance computers connected to printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Dual boot operating systems are available in the systems, allowing users to choose between Microsoft Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Microsoft Office Pack, Microsoft Visual Studio, J2EE, MATLAB, and other tools are  available in the laboratories. A leased line connection provides unrestricted internet access at a speed of 40 Mbps.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a canteen that serves nutritious and hygienic food at a nominal cost. Besides the canteen, a cafeteria also works on the MBCET college campus, on working days.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram has a well-maintained auditorium. The facilities available in the auditorium are audio-video systems, LCD projectors, etc. Multi-purpose activities like events and seminars are conducted at the college auditorium.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram runs a fleet of buses for transporting students to and from the city and to other areas. The  transportation services ensure that the students and employees arrive at the college on time and comfortably.

It’s a fact that friends are getting out of touch after the college life. This may be due to their busy schedule in making their own life. Some of them may be busy with their job, some may go abroad, and some may go for higher studies. So there should be some platform for the past students to be in touch with each other and to be in touch with the college were they spend the most important part of their life. That’s why we formed the Alumni association of our college MBCETAA. Through this all the pass outs of MBCET can be a part of the development and success of the college. The MBCETAA will be maintaining a website for the alumnus,containing all the details and updates of the members of the association.

Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The entire MBCET campus is enabled with high-speed internet. Students and faculty members can avail the Wi-Fi facility.
