NIFT is a national level entrance exam which is conducted to offer admissions to design and fashion technology programmes. The exam is conducted by the authorities of the National Institute of Fashion Technology in pen and paper based mode. The exam pattern consists of 3 sections which are- General ability test, Creative ability test and Situations test.The weightage of exam results is divided into 3 sections- 50 percent for Creative ability test, 30 percent for General ability test and 20 percent for Situations Test. The exam is conducted in English language, the number of questions given are 100 and the time duration is 120 minutes. There are 18 participating colleges under the exam and the total number of seats offered are 2370.
NID Design AptitudeTest is conducted by the authorities of National Institute of Design. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode. NIT DAT is conducted in two stages - prelims and mains. Students qualifying the preliminary exam of Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design), will also have to qualify mains to get final admissions to the programme. The exam is conducted once in a year. The exam is conducted in English language and is covered in three hours. There are 10 participating colleges which come under NIT DAT and the total number of seats offered are 220.
AIEED is conducted by the ARCH Academy of Design to offer admissions to fashion and design programmes to their Delhi and Jaipur campuses. The exam pattern is divided into two sections which are- General ability test and Creative ability test. After qualifying the exam, students also need to qualify the Personal Interaction round for getting final admissions to the B.Des. (Fashion Design) programme. The exam is conducted in English language and is conducted in both online and offline mode. AIEED GAT is conducted with a duration of two hours consisting of 60 questions and AIEED CAT is conducted with a duration of three hours consisting of 50 questions. GAT is conducted for 100 marks, CAT for 200 marks and Video, Portfolio and Personal Interaction for 200 marks respectively. Students are tested for B.Des. (Fashion Design) on the basis of composure, articulation skills, work in portfolio, focus and clarity regarding the subject matter and depth of thinking during the Personal Interaction round.
Pearl Academy Entrance Exam is conducted by the Pearl Academy of Fashion to offer admissions to design, fashion, business and media programmes. The exam is conducted three times in a year depending on the availability of seats. The exam is conducted to offer admissions to its various campuses located in Delhi, Noida, Mumbai and Jaipur. The exam is conducted in English language and is conducted in offline mode.
The B.Des. (Fashion Design) exam pattern is divided into two sections - General Proficiency Test (GPT) and Design Aptitude Test (DAT).
