BITS Design School, Mumbai conceived and established by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), is one of the first private institutes in India to be granted 'Institute of Eminence' status in 2020 by the Government of India. BITS Design School was founded to create an inclusive and inspiring space where design students and educators from around the world can come together to learn, collaborate and create.

BITS Design School offers fully residential, 4-year-long, transdisciplinary Bachelor of Design (Honours) programmes. Courses offered by BITS Design School include B.Des Physical Product Design Hons, B.Des UI UX Hons, B.Des Human Centred Design Hons, B.Des Experience Design Hons and B.Des Visual Design Hons. Admissions to BDes (Hons) courses are through the National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test Prelims (NID‑DAT Prelims)/ IIT Bombay Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)/ BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT) scores.

BITS Design School offers three types of scholarships which include Merit & Means Based Scholarship, Academic Merit Scholarship and Diversity Scholarship. Scholarships offered by BITSDES are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined. BITS Design School offers a wide range of infrastructural facilities such as fully-equipped classrooms, library, accommodation, sports facilities, cafeteria, security and other campus facilities.

BITS Design School, Mumbai Scholarship

BITS Design School, Mumbai offers scholarships to meritorious students. The institute offers scholarships based on merit, financial capability, special needs, as well as scholarships to ensure diversity in gender and geography. Candidates will have to ensure that they meet the eligibility before applying for BITS Design School scholarships. Scholarships offered by BITS Design School Mumbai are Merit and Means Based Scholarships, Academic Merit Scholarship and Diversity Scholarship.

In order to avail any BITSDES scholarship, the student must be a citizen of India, have completed grade 10 and grade 12 from a recognised board, have received an offer of admission from BITS Design School for its 4-year B Des (Hons) programme and meet the specific mandated criteria mentioned against each category. BITS Design School scholarships are reviewed and awarded annually based on the student's academic performance and conduct, attendance, and payment of tuition and residential fees. Considerations for BITS Design School scholarships will be accounted for after due evaluation of the student's application form and documents provided. Scholarships offered by BITSDES are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for more than 1 type of scholarship, they will be offered the scholarship with the higher tuition fee waiver, but will not be offered the sum of two or more tuition fee waivers. Merit and Means Based Scholarships	To be eligible for the Merit and Means Based scholarship, the student's annual family income (parents'/guardians') must not be more than Rs. 18,00,000. + The merit of the student will be assessed through their BITS Design School application form, including design test scores, academic achievement, co/extra-curricular achievements, and their portfolio interview. + The Merit and Means Based Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of up to 90% and it will be awarded in each year of the 4-year programme
Academic Merit Scholarship	The scholarships recognise and support high-performing, well-rounded students who have demonstrated a clear passion for design education. + The merit of the student will be assessed through their BITS Design School application form, including design test scores, academic achievement, co/extra-curricular achievements, and their portfolio interview. + All students are considered by default for the Academic Merit Scholarship. + The Academic Merit Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and it will be awarded in each year of the 4-year design programme.
Diversity Scholarship	It will be awarded to exceptional third-gender students, students from underrepresented regions, and students with physical disabilities. + The Diversity Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and it will be awarded in each year of the 4-year design programme.
