IIT mumbai,My Dream college

Posted on 20 Jun' 17 by aastha sharma
Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Chemical Engineering
My dream is to study in one of the IIT colleges and finally I achieved it.Faculty, friends,College environment and all are good.I would say that it is very hard to get into IIT Bombay, and people give it two or more years of their lives. But at the end of the day, it's worth it! IIT Bombayis one of the few places in India that offer world class education. The infrastructure and labs may be not so cutting edge, but the professors and students that you encounter here are second to none. It took some time for me to get adjusted here. But now I'm really enjoying. Infrastructural facilities are too good in the campus.I'm eagerly waiting for my placements.

Great infrastructure to enable the most innovative crowd

The facilities provided by the Institute are compact and easily reachable, even given the large size of the institute. The eateries remain open till 4 am in the night, ensuring that you can always go for a late night snack. The sports infrastructure is also quite extensive, especially for a college with a nerdy image. There are gyms, canteens and a mess in every hostel, and also indoor games like billiards and foosball. Sports equipment can be issued anytime, making for many late night matches. The Cultural council is also extensive, producing some of the best teams in India, especially in speaking arts, photography and design. There is always something going on in the institute, including entertainment activities like music performances by classical artists, dramas, stand up comedy apart from guest lectures and workshops on political and technical subjects of your choice.

There are all types of facilities available here,we can play any games here.Academics is a plus point too,the professors are quite good but sometime they go so fast that it is hard to catch up to them. For ensure this there are tutorials. The most wonderful thing about this college is we can interact with a lot of people from all over the country. The college hostel is messy, there are very small rooms, hard for two guys to live and mess food is also not too good. The college had a low fees according to the facility they have given.

It is a nice college, sometimes there maybe harsh conditions like the mess food we get is not too good, but overall it's a good college. The faculty is good and specialize in their profession. They are kind enough to take all of our doubts. The infrastructure is awesome. We can use any facility anytime and there are lot of it. I am very happy to be part of of it. There are regular trips which keep enthusiasm of student up. It's a overall good college.

IIT Bombay is the best college for engineering. Particularly, its Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments are among the best in the country. There are lots of activities for overall personality development. It offers a diverse environment, wide range of opportunities, and exciting technical, cultural and departmental fests to get the best out of everyone. It has one of the best research facilities in India. Here teaching standards are high and learning is fun. Hostel facilities are good.

Apart from being the best technical school in the country and one of the top few globally, IITB creates experiences that students don’t forget. If you are passionate about your interests and hoping for a peer group that consists of equally passionate individuals, you will choose IITB. Students typically find something they hold close to the heart at the institute. Be it a passion for biochemistry or an addiction to semi-conductors, you can be sure that IIT will not fall short. Some of the top reasons why students choose to be part of IITB is one that most people would least expect. While the academic curriculum forms a large part of the experience at IITB, the institute also offers a number of extracurricular activities that IITB students are encouraged to participate in. This ensures that students get an all-round education and are not confined to academic achievements alone

The Institute has an excellent faculty. Besides having excellent academic quality and infrastructure, the iit-b student community is an amazing one. Over here, we have the opportunity to be anything we want to be. There are tons of sports you can learn(or develop if you're already proficient), there are student clubs for every extra curricular activity from making paper craft to directing short films. And you may even get the opportunity to manage certain fests like Mood Indigo, techfest etc. So, on the whole, you can do a lot of stuff, make some everlasting memories and have a great experience studying here.

Okay so if you come here for research and placements and starting a great life after college then go back immediately. This college is not meant for it. Here there is no industrial exposure,no industrial trips ,nobody gives a damn about your placements and all opportunities are given only to high CGPA students. And in the end even they don't get placed. I warned you, now it's all up to you.

Class timings depend upon the courses you choose. The timetable is available on hand and one can choose course accordingly. Exams are based on fundamentals and concepts that we develop. Projects are simple. Assignments may consume a lot of time and time management is essential. Most of the Professors are very good in teaching. We obviously choose courses after consulting seniors. Hence there was never a problem. An odd case may happen that some courses might not be so well taught but these are never the core/compulsory courses. Visiting professors from MIT/Stanford/Cambridge make way for some semesters and that is seen as a golden opportunity to learn more. Overall experience has been quite excellent. The teaching quality is uncomprable.

My professors are very highly talented and teach us not only the subjects but also guide us for our career. They always motivate us with different projects for the welfare of the society. The atmosphere of our college is very nice. It has a large library with a reading Hall. The seniors are very helpful and supportive. I love my college. Life here Is so wonderful.

THE place to be if you want to pursue a career in engineering. The college has reached new highs of success in research and is now trying to enter the big league of engineering education and research. The huge 500 acre campus looks like nothing else you may have seen in Bombay, primarily because it’s lush green! The lakeside view adds some more to its aesthetic appeal. But IIT Bombay isn’t just about nature, of course – it’s arguably the finest technological institute of the country because of its excellent faculty, and its amazing facilities.

This place has good infrastructure and facilities. Regular events take place giving all students a chance to explore in various fields. There are very experienced and qualified professors here who are very helpful and supportive. The hostel facilities are good and the mess council regularly takes feedback from students and try to overcome the problems . Every student have an access to institute means scholarship making college affordable for every student . Seniors are very friendly and guide their juniors as much as they can. They try to promote every sort of good ideas we come up with and even try to put them in front of professors. The most fun part of being in this institute is that every activities are being conducted by student bodies starting from activities as small as painting to activities as big as mood indigo with a footfall of more than 150K . Overall there are lot of things to explore in this institute and being in this institute is like being a dream come true.

IITB has the best facilities among all other colleges. The fests here are mind bobbling and famous world wide. A lot of exposure to corporate world. Various departments to nurture one's interest The huge 500 acre campus looks like nothing else you may have seen in Bombay, primarily because it’s lush green! The lakeside view adds some more to its aesthetic appeal. But IIT Bombay isn’t just about nature, of course – it’s arguably the finest technological institute of the country because of its excellent faculty, and its amazing facilities. There are 14 hostels with 2 more coming up. Older hostels have 400 students while new ones will accommodate 800 students. Separate apartment facilities are provided for PG students and their families. Each hostel is equipped with its own mess, sports facilities, music room etc. The wing culture is unique to each hostel and is a matter of pride during intra hostel competitions. Each of them has a unique name, the most interesting being Hostel 7 - "The Lady of the Lake" which is a lake facing hostel. There is a gymkhana with the latest facilities for sports, music etc. The central library is huge, with lots of research work and latest editions of all books. Each hostel also has its own library. There is high speed LAN access in every room without any restrictions on download limits, while the academic area is WiFi enabled. There's a LAN ban from 1.30am to 5am during semesters and it is taken down only during end-sems and vacations. Active DC++ (intranet) provides access to important shared data and media quickly. There's no hostel or institute curfew. Only opposite sex isn't allowed after 10 PM, but you can do anything in common space whenever, and you can enter and leave the institute whenever you wish. Indoor badminton, basketball courts, brilliant grounds, 50m swimming pool, TT room, squash court, tennis court are the facilities available at the institute level, not to mention facilities available in hostels.

Life is pretty chill at IIT Bombay. The motive and environment is very developed and the magnitude of the plethora of events taking place here is far beyond any other college in India. We celebrate most famous events like Techfest and MoodIndigo with a footfall of almost 150K in each. From dance to music, quiz to art-crafts, tech to sports, name an activity and find it here!! The greenery of the campus is amazing, amidst the rush of Mumbai citylife, this place is a breather.

IIT Bombay is a college with one of the best infrastructures in the world. The college has great industry exposure as it has regular internship period takes wherein we have many internships offered from various multi national companies. I have enjoyed my life at IIT Bombay thoroughly and would advice everyone to take IT Bombay. I was very happy with my placement as I bagged one of the best campus placements of INR 30L per annum with Goldman Sachs. The hostels and faculty here are just awesome and I don't think it can be provided anywhere else . The student culture here has helpt me a lot in developing my personality and has helped me achieve great success. I hope this review helps other aspirants.

The infrastructure is very good. All sports facilities are available. Apart from that all high tech facilities are available for research. All year round infinite talks take place. During the semester so many extra curricular activities takes place that you cannot participate in all. From Tech to culturals to dramatics to entertainment you can get the taste for everything. Food joints around the campus are good. Also the location is in prime place in Mumbai. There are a lot of opportunitiesfor growth and development.

Due to lower competition, the quality of MTech batches in most departments at IITs is lower than BTech batches. That does lead to the currently prevalent perceptions. However, for CSE, the keen competition does lead to a pretty decent batch, at least at IIT Bombay. I know of seniors who have been placed in Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Intel, Credit Suisse, etc. or have gone to decent universities like CMU, UMD, etc. for their Ph.D. It really depends on the individual caliber of the student. There is a difference between the BTech and MTech batches because the BTechs receive rigorous training in fundamentals for four years. More importantly, BTechs have healthier attitudes toward learning and often ask a lot of questions in a class making it interactive and worthwhile. These are differences that cannot be wished away, but which many MTechs overcome through their first semester. Regarding admissions, you most certainly will get a direct admit to IIT Bombay with AIR 44. Apply to two other IITs of your choice as a backup. I applied to all of them and never had to bother with admits from the other IITs.

The Heaven in Mumbai - IIT Bombay

The Campus has really very beautiful. It has the variety of flora and fauna. Powai lake is situated on campus only. Full green cover under the shade of trees. Students get full exposure here in various fields which in turn contributes to overall personality development. The campus has various clubs like Electronics club, web and coding club, maths and physics club, etc. Anyone interested (irrespective of particular branch) can undertake various funded projects. The sports facility provided by Institution is quite advance. One can play almost all sports, have various courts, fields. Inter and Intra-level cultural competition also held on the regular basis. IIT Bombay organises Asia's largest Technical fest "Techfest" and Asia's Largest cultural fest " Mood Indigo" every year. The Faculty is highly qualified and basically, somewhat research orientated. Students can easily interact with them professors are very cooperative and friendly. Lectures rooms contain highly advance technologies like projectors, speakers, Air conditioning, an electric port on every seat. Each Department's sophisticated and advanced machines for research purpose. The institute gives central level facility for doing the research project. Hostel life is the main part full of hostel culture and everyone enjoys it. Most of the students still live in old Hostels of the 90s. Hostels are upgrading and also new hotels are being built nowadays. Newly created hostels are good as compared to old hostels. Each hostel has its own sports field, courts and inter and intra-hostel events are also organised. The hostel Celebrate every festival in a grand manner. Placements: Students are placed almost 90 percent. Institute prepares well in every coming placement. Companies from every sector mostly Engineering and technology, IT sector, consultancy, Trading , Finance recruit students from the campus. The institute follows the two-phase procedure of placements. Mostly packages offered are above 6 lpa. The gender ratio is very low in almost all IITs. Every year almost 900 students come and out of them only 100 are girls and rest 800 are boys. One girl on every ten boys.

It’s a good college with probably the best possible facilities for microelectronics and also power field. Professors are really good. Mostly they are friendly and approachable for any problem. Research opportunities are really awesome. Some professors even send students to foreign for internships. It’s a pretty cool experience over there. The only problem of concern is a competitive atmosphere. Mostly the pressure is high over there. But if handled properly it can certainly be managed properly and you can spend some of the best time of your life there.

You can pursue whatever (repeat WHATEVER) you wish to

The academic, technical, cultural, sports, social activities clubs in the campus are vibrantly breeding talent and leadership in their respective fields. The faculty is internationally trained, research facilities are best in India, sports facilities are Olympic level, cultural events {Mood Indigo, PAF - google them) attract the best crowd from India. This is all mixed with the best student talent, availability of funds and infrastructure at your disposal all through your tenure there. The rapport between juniors and seniors is at another level, building friends and network. Hence this is one of the best places to be for college.
