The IIT Bombay placements program on campus has several top global organisations hiring students for decades owing to rigorous training and strengthening of fundamentals provided by the Institute. The placement office works rigorously with the help of officers, staff and student coordinators in every structured way for a smooth recruitment process. The office engages actively with top organisations and receives regular feedback from our recruiters in planning and coordinating the recruitment process. The main focus of the office is to create industry-ready students and keep them well prepared in advance for the responsibilities of the job market, corporate world and private sector. Necessary training and guidance are provided to students through several activities or “bootcamps” by collaborating with the other clubs on campus. Mentors are assigned to students in guiding and preparing them for aptitude and problem-solving. Each department differs in the level of activity it engages with the students
The recruiter gets in touch with the placement office and they are assigned coordinators to help them with the entire process of recruitment.
Every recruiter is given an account in the placement website and they are required to update their contact details.
Recruiters have to pay registration fees and the procedure for registration is aided by the coordinators.
Recruiters use “Job Announcement Form” (JAF) as a medium to collect the basic information about the job along with its description and pay package. The JAF is verified by the placement office.
After payment and verification, the JAF details are given to students who are eligible.
Students who qualify for certain key positions can sign up to appear for the recruitment process and their individual profiles are made available for the recruiter to shortlist them.
After students are shortlisted for the IIT Bombay Nishi aptitude test known as PCA for or testing critical and problem-solving skills.
Usually, interviews are conducted in December with certain dates decided by the placement office and recruiter mutually.
The final selection of students is done and communicated to the placement office for or ending the process of recruitment.

As you have asked,
It depends on the profile of the job. The average will be around 9lpa. But the highest ones can go up to thrice the average.
Design is something you should come only if you like, coming in for salary wouldn’t be a wise choice. Your choice closes lots of doors such as other fields.
So,

As of these branches are considered, I would suggest Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is one of the core engineering branches and the placement record is definitely better than environmental branches. Job opportunities are very less for environmental branch out in the industry. Since IIT Delhi is an excellent college to study, it is a safer option also.

Apart from these, over 265 companies were present for the recruitment of students from the BTech CSE department for the 2019 batch. The top recruiter among these was microsoft.
The highest national package offered for the year was 62.28LPA whereas the median package was 20LPA. The highest international package went up to an astounding amount of 1.16 Crore per year.
Most of the students were recruited to be a part of the R&D sector of their respective recruiting company
