About MCAER PG CET 2020

The Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER) Pune conducts its common entrance test (CET) for admission to various postgraduate programmes in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) across Maharashtra. The MCAER PGCET is an offline examination of two hours with 200 objective-type questions. The admission is granted on the basis of merit formulated by considering weightage of 70 per cent of the test score and 30 per cent of the CGPA of the candidate. The minimum cutoff score for MCAER Admission 2020 is of 55 per cent of total merit for postgraduate admission.

MCAER PG CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The admission to MCAER 2020 PG programmes is partially based on the candidates' undergraduate results and MCAER PG CET exam scores (for some courses). The basic eligibility criteria of MCAER PG CET 2020 exam is as the following - 

  • Candidates must be a science graduate with at least 55 credits from a recognised college/university. The graduate programme should be for two years with four semesters (full-time).
  • Those students who have appeared for the final degree examination for the academic year 2019-20 are eligible to appear for the MCAER PG CET 2020.

  • Applicants will be eligible to take as many common entrance tests as per their eligibility for admission to a postgraduate programme. For example, a student of B.Sc. (Agricultural Biotechnology) can appear for entrance exams pertaining to M.Sc. (Agricultural Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Agriculture) and M.B.A. (Agriculture). However, they need to submit only one application form (a printout of online application) along with one challan common towards examination fees.

  • For multiple courses, candidates need to add the multiplied amount. In such cases, the aspirant will have to indicate other/additional options of subject streams (as per eligibility) in which the entrance test is to be appeared.

MCAER PG CET 2020 aspirants are required to fill the application form strictly in online mode. Candidates must ensure that they do not commit any mistake while filling the application form, as it cannot be corrected/edited by the office. In such cases, candidates will not have any authority to claim the refund of examination fees. It is a mandate to keep a photocopy of the printout of online application form for future communication.

How to fill the MCAER PG CET 2020 application form?

Prior to filling the application form of MCAER PG CET 2020, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed for appearing in the postgraduate examination.

  • Applicants should visit the official website
  • Then click on the tab 'Recent News'. Candidates will have to then click on the tab 'Online Application for PG CET 2020'
  • They have to register themselves for filling the application form by providing the valid email id and mobile number.
  • The online application form needs to be carefully filled by entering accurate academic and professional details. 
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature (size of photograph and signature should not be greater than 35KB and 30KB, respectively).
  • There is provision to edit in the online application form, before clicking on the tab 'Submit'.
  • After submitting the online application form, candidates must take the print copies of the acknowledgement.

Payment of MCAER PG CET 2020 application fee

  • Applicants need to pay the fee through online payment facility using State Bank of India collect link which will be available on the official web after one working day of filling the online application form of MCAER PG CET 2020.
  • Payment can be made through various online payment options.
  • Candidates are made sure to note that applicable bank charges plus taxes if any will be recovered at the time of the payment.

MCAER PG CET 2020 Exam Pattern

The MCAER PG CET is conducted in offline mode (paper-based test). Candidates need to fill the OMR sheet which comprises 200 objective-type questions to be answered in 120 minutes (2 hours). There are not any choice or option for questions, i.e. all questions need to be answered.

MCAER PG CET 2020 Admit Card

MCAER PG CET 2020 admit card is issued to only those candidates whose applications were accepted online. The admit card of MCAER PG CET 2020 has been made available in online mode alone and applicants can log in into the web account by entering the user id and password created during the registration process. 

How to download the MCAER PG CET Admit Card 2020?

  • Candidates should click on the 'admit card' link to be made available on the official website to download their admit cards.
  • The MCAER PG CET 2020 admit card is a mandatory document to be produced on the day of the exam.
  • Without the admit card, candidates will not be permitted to appear for the test to be conducted.

MCAER PG CET 2020 Answer Key

The answer key of MCAER PG CET 2020 has been released in online mode on March 27, for all the streams. Candidates could view the answer key on the MCAER website. The MCAER PG CET 2020 answer key will help candidates in knowing the correct answers to the questions they have marked in the examination. Further counting the number of correct answers by the MCAER PG CET answer key, candidates can actually calculate their obtained score in the test.

MCAER PG CET 2020 Result

The MCAER result 2020 has been announced in online mode on March 28. Candidates, who have appeared for the MCAER Exam 2020 can view and download their result in the form of merit list PDF from the official website.

How to verify the MCAER PG CET 2020 result?

Verification of marks obtained is permitted on applying for the same in writing within seven (7) days from the date of declaration of the result along with a demand draft for Rs.300/- drawn in the name of 'Controller, MAUEB, Pune, payable at Pune'.

The final selection will be based on the merit formulated by considering weightage of 70 percent of the MCAER PG CET 2020 score and 30 percent of the CGPA of candidates pertaining to their past academic result. 

Other weightages, if any and the reservation policy will be followed as per guidelines of the State Government. The minimum MCAER cutoff 2020 will be of 55 percent (fifty-five) of total merit for post graduation admission.

You can have previous year question papers of MCAER PG CET exam from two options, one is that you can visit the official website and can have question papers from it and another option is that you can type some related keywords on Google the very first link will definitely give the best result.

To get junior research fellowship and senior research fellowship the recognition of college by the ICAR is a criteria.

Any candidate who wants to secure admission in any course offered at State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) in Maharashtra need to appear for MCAER CET exam. Candidates cannot secure admission in any PG level course offered at SAUs if they do not have a valid MCAER CET score/ rank.
