JIPMER Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Nationality
As per the JIPMER eligibility criteria 2019, a candidate must be an Indian citizen/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/National Residents of India (NRI). OCI and NRI candidates are required to upload the necessary documents while filling the application form. Furthermore, these candidates will be considered for only unreserved category seats.
JIPMER Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Age Limit
Candidates applying for JIPMER MBBS must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2019. As per the JIPMER eligibility criteria 2019, there is no upper age limit for the entrance exam. It must be noted that there will be no relaxation in lower age limit given to any candidate under any circumstances, irrespective of his/her category.
Aspirants of JIPMER MBBS must pass the qualifying examination meaning Class 12 examination or an equivalent examination after 12 years of study. Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology in the last two years of study and English as a core subject. OCI/NRI candidates who have not completed Class 12 from the country will be required to submit an Eligibility Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
As per the eligibility criteria of JIPMER MBBS 2019, the qualifying marks has been decreased for each category. This year, a EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category has also been added. In order to be eligible for the qualifying percentile for Unreserved and EWS category has been decreased from 60% to 50%. While for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and Unreserved-PwD candidates, it is 40% and 45%, respectively.
