Hey, congratulations for qualifying JEE Mains. It's okay if you hav registered yourself in the JoSAA counselling. You'll get refund if you don't get a seat in the counselling or you don't freeze any college that you get in the subsequent rounds. You can take a drop and prepare for JEE again or take admission in college, prepare for JEE alongside colege and appear for JEE agin. You are elligible no issues unless it's your 4th time appearig for this exam. Good luck.
First of all what do you mean by long term? Even if you have registered for josaa and you have qualified Jee mains and if you haven't been alloted any seat in counselling then you can definitely give jee next year as well by clearing Jee mains again next year.
For jee mains you get three chances to appear and for jee advanced you get only two chances and the years should be consecutive.
Hope it helps
Hello,
If you want to go for JoSAA counselling of year 2020, you should write JEE 2020. You cannot go for JoSAA 2020 counselling with JEE 2019 score. So you have no way other than to attend JEE Mains 2020 and then register for JoSAA counselling of 2020. To attend JEE you can have only gap of two years after clearing Class 12.
