If you have any category certificate, suppose you're a SC category candidate, then as per your category SC, your SC rank will be taken into consideration in JOSAA Counselling through JEE Mains.
But if you've no category certificate, then the common rank will be taken into consideration.
So, if you have any documents so as to give a proof of your category, then it is suggested to show the documents to the officials while the verification of documents.
