DAIICT Gandhinagar Facilities

Dhirubhai Ambani University provides great facilities for students and teachers. Dhirubhai Ambani University library is well organised and can hold 300 people at a time. College campus is a completely networked campus with strong internet access.  There are specific hostels for boys and girls. Dhirubhai Ambani University infrastructure and facilities include food stalls offering a range of cuisines.

College buildings and facilities play a major role in the overall improvement of teaching and learning. A good infrastructure facility helps students learn and improve.   • Boys Hostel

    There are three Halls of Residence (HoRs), two for Men. The New Men’s HoR has 4 wings labelled L, M, P & R with 476 residents’ capacity having triple and double occupancy rooms. The Men’s HoR has 8 wings labelled A to H. Each wing has about 60 rooms. The total capacity of the 8 wings is about 1025 students on twin sharing basis.

  • Girls Hostel

    There are three Halls of Residence (HoRs), two for Men and the other for Women.

    The women’s hall has 2 wings, viz. the J and K wings, with a total capacity of accommodating 400 residents. The women’s wing has a guest room for mother’s stay during medical issues. The lady security staff on 3 shifts ensures safety and discipline round the clock. They also assist in collecting mail for the residents and registering their complaints to be passed on to the proper maintenance personnel.

  • Medical/Hospital

    The campus has a Medical Centre with reasonable stock of medicines. Two Doctors visit the campus daily–one Doctor in the morning, forenoon and the other in the evening. An updated panel of medical specialists is also announced in the beginning of every academic year. The Campus Doctors provide free consultation and medicines disbursed from the Centre are free of any charge. The contact details of the Doctors visiting campus are as follows:

    DA-IICT has signed a Memorandums of Understanding with Aashka Multispecialty Hospital, Gandhinagar, a Hospital with most modern and advanced medical and para-medical facilities, for providing medical facilities to the faculty, staff and students for priority admission and treatment on concessional rate. The Hospital is adjacent to DA-IICT campus and can be reached within ten minutes. A similar arrangement has also been made with Apollo Hospital, Gandhinagar.

    An Institute vehicle with the Driver is always on 24×7 duties to handle medical emergencies.

    All students are covered under the Group Mediclaim Insurance Policy (coverage of Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum) with Reliance General Insurance Company on payment of premium paid by the University and completion of certain procedures registration. With this medical coverage, the students can avail cashless in-patient medical treatment in various hospitals approved by the Reliance General Insurance Company.

  • Gym

    Well-equipped Gymnasium and Yoga hall on the first floor of the sports complex.

  • Library

    Resource Centre (RC), The Library of DAIICT connects the user to its relevant information resources. It serves as an innovative partner in teaching, learning and research activities. RC is housed in its wi-fi-enabled two buildings covering an area of about 16000 square feet, accommodating about 450 users at a time. The RC has a rich and diverse collection of about 34050 books, 67230 e-books, 7674 e-journals, 65 print journals, 10 databases, 1098 theses and 4037 audio-visual materials in the ICT, social science and humanities. This collection can be searched by a web-enabled online catalogue. The students can also browse and access the various electronic resources such as e-journals, e-books and databases using the dedicated terminals in the reading zones. RC offers language learning as well.

    RC remains open as follows:

    • 9 am to 9 pm during the semester
    • 9 am to 2 am during the semester examinations
    • 9 am to 6 pm during the vacation period.

    RC brings to the notice of the student’s advanced studies in India and abroad, training, skill development and certification programs regularly to enhance their knowledge.

    RC has resource sharing a collaboration with Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) and National Digital Library of India (NDLI). The inter-library loan and resource sharing are a part of external reach services. RC also preserves and archives the internal (faculty and students) publications and institutional events records for posterity and further dissemination.

  • Sports

    All students will be physically educated, have motor skills to perform a variety of physical activities and pursue a healthy and active lifestyle in an increasingly changing world.

    In DAIICT sports and games are an important and unique part of the daily programme. Not only does it contribute to the overall goals of education, but also contributes to the development and maintenance of fitness, motor skills, social skills and health. The sports department of our institute has always endeavoured to fulfil the basic objectives of sports and games by providing the appropriate infrastructural facilities and the right kind of motivation to aspiring students. Our institute produced many outstanding sports persons who have brought laurels to our institution in various Intra and extramural competitions.DAIICT has been taking part in the various District, State and National level tournaments in Athletics, Table Tennis, Badminton, BasketBall,Tennis,Cricket,Volleyball,Chess and Football. As per the annual sports policy of the institution all sports and games coaching sessions are divided in to two phases

    • PHASE-I=From January to March.
    • PHASE-II=From August to October.

    Infrastructure

    Basketball courts -02, Athletic track(400mtrs) -01, Indoor Badminton courts -03, Cricket field -01, Gymnasium with all modern facilities-01, Football ground-01,Volleyball Courts -02, Table Tennis Hall equipped with six tables - 01, Yoga and meditation zone.

  • I.T Infrastructure

    DA-IICT has modern eco-friendly, fully networked campus with 1GBps Internet link from NKN and 1GBps Internet link from Tata Teleservices and 10GBps Server-farm connectivity Campus LAN infrastructure with 1GBps optical fiber cable connectivity between various buildings with four L3 Manageable switch and around 75 L2 manageable/unmanageable network switches. Wireless network setup consists of 143 access points spread over various campus locations being managed at a centralized location using Ruckus 1200/SZVC series zone controllers.

    There are over 1300 Desktop PCs and 75 Laptops deployed for use of faculty and staff. DA-IICT has its own Datacenter with 30 servers and with 10G switch for server farm to provide various IT services like email, web hosting, files sharing and software license management, campus management, Imaging of PCs, HPC cluster and other services. The Institute uses server consolidation and virtualization techniques to reduce power requirements. The Institute also uses open source online learning management for course content hosting and submission of assignment.

    The IT Helpdesk Team consisting of six well trained engineers extends assistance and support to users. Besides, the well trained Laboratory and technical staff provide assistance for the students and faculty to perform various experiments in Laboratories. The details on the existing hardware and software are as follows:

    High Performance Computing Cluster

    Institute has a setup of five node (1 master and 4 compute nodes; 2 compute nodes are GPU enabled) HPC cluster for B.Tech ICT Computational Science (CS) program. The cluster is equipped with a 40GBps SAN switch. Scientific Linux, 7.1 OS is used to build the HPC Cluster tools like Torque, Open MP, Ganglia. The HPC also consists of various other open source development tools.

    Server Virtualization

    The software, VMWare ESXI & IBM Blade Center HS23 with two Blades (with Inbuilt storage) is used to achieve server virtualization benefits which include cost reduction, better storage management, granular scaling and power savings.

    Computing setup for Research Work

    Institute has created a computing setup comprising of eight computing servers to facilitate the research work of Faculty, M Tech and PhD scholars. The servers operate on Scientific Linux 7.1. Of these eight servers, three are set up with high-end GPU.

    Unified Network Storage (EMC Vnxe3200)

    EMC Vnxe-3200, as network attached storage, is configured to facilitate file sharing using AD authentication & FTP access to user ’s home directory. It supports multiple access protocols, compression De-duplication and snapshots. It can also be used as VMware storage. It also has inbuilt web-based Management for monitoring, configuring and system settings with host base access for better security.

    Enterprise UTM Firewall

    Sophos UTM Enterprise grade Firewall is used for internet authentication, gateway level anti-virus and anti-spam scanning, web and application filter policy, virtual Hosting of web services, internet bandwidth management. The firewall is configured for two internet lease lines. 1GBps line from NKN & 1GBps line from Tata Teleservices.

  • Cafeteria

    DA-IICT campus has 7 food courts offering wide variety of food covering almost all the cuisine and taste from North India to South India.

    The food courts are outsourced to run on a yearly basis to experienced caterers. The contractors are provided with modern infrastructure facilities at low cost in order to work out affordable price for the food items served.

    All the food courts serve North and South Indian Food and in addition, two food courts serve South Indian food, one special breakfast, snacks and pastries and one fruit and fruit juices.

    There is a special arrangement with Amul to make Amul products available at the food court and a separate food court which serves non-vegetarian food including egg dishes.

  • Auditorium

    The university has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.

    The university has a transport facility for students and staff.

    Electronics , RF, VLSI , IoT, Network, Engineering Design Workshop, DSP, CS & HPC, MMD, AIP, Computer laboratories are a facility where students access to the hardware and software necessary to fulfill the requirements in the course, with having 22 nos. of teaching labs, 11 nos. of research labs with inclusive of sponsored project labs & 6 nos. of labs utilized for dedicated work space to PG students. The laboratories are utilized for academic, research, workshop/seminars/technical fest & placement activities. Few labs are available to students for more than 16 hours per day.

    The laboratories have high-tech computers , with total nos. more than 1100 advanced computers with gigabit Ethernet connectivity, provision of VPN access, Licenses as well as open source OS with necessary required license as well as open source software installed as per need to perform lab assignment related to their academic requirement. Also having fixed and ad-hoc availability of projector facilities, white boards, testing and measurement instruments, RF instruments , IoT related various sensors and kits, embedded kits , NI make equipment/kit, equipment for engineering drawing workshops , with air conditioned facilities at every lab room. All students have access to the printing facility, institute's email account, intranet, intranet access - through SOPHOS firewall security system, wi-fi access also to connect their own laptops. User manual / user guide of equipment available at laboratory website - lab.daiict.ac.in - with updated detail about the laboratories resources as well.

Xilinx , Labview & Vivado design software as well as open source software.     DSP Laboratory - MATLAB software as well open source software with higher end desktops with open source OS, NI USRP2922 radio kits, NI speedy-33 - Signal Processing Engineering Educational Device for Youth

    AI Club

    The AI club hosts workshops, projects, and discussions on AI topics like machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision. Our goal is to make knowledge and resources about AI readily available and foster interest about these topics amongst our batchmates"

    Press Club

    As the journalism cell of DAIICT, The Press Club strives to give voice to the student community and aspires to be a podium to lodge campus musings in all its moods. To achieve its maxim, The Press Club engages in a number of journalistic undertakings in the campus. Its principal product is Entelechy, DAIICT’s only campus magazine. Entelechy, the student-run magazine of DA, has over the years and over its editions, morphed into a voice, a power, a passion and an endeavor in the verve of those it envelops, and that is what makes Entelechy more than a magazine. Entelechy is, to us, a concept of volition; it is the autonomy of thought and an enticement to ingenuity. We, at the Press Club, aspire to make a difference in the littlest way we can; if not in the big, wide world yet, in the world around you and me.

    Debate Club

    We are a group of people who like to talk, who believe in the power of words to bring about change, who promote dissent and discussion. We do this by conducting weekly sessions of Parliamentary Debating and Group Discussions on all kinds of topics ranging from politics to movies to morality and ethics. We also have Open Forum Discussions, a platform for the faculty and students to interact on topics affecting both as well as MUNs (Model United Nations). The Debate Club strives to inculcate a culture of dissension while everyone has a good time.

    Dance Club

    Dance Club or DADC as it is popularly known, tries to cater to all kind of dancing instincts of students. We are not professional dancers, just amateurs trying to shake a leg here and there. We have grown over the years with our regional and national level wins. We also organize workshops from time to time to engage students and make them feel the exhilarating effects of dancing. We at Dance Club, choreograph, dance, practice hard and put our best foot forward.

    Programming Club

    Programming Club has been working to help people explore their hidden passion for programming. We help students understand some basic concepts and few who stick around enjoy and master the art competitive programming. This includes solving complex problems under some time and space constraints, which is a valued skill in the field of computer science. Our philosophy is to make programming a fun activity where students come up with problems and discuss solutions out of their interest. We regularly organize contests and discussion sessions to encourage participation of the student community. We actively promote students to participate in algorithmically challenging competitions like ACM ICPC, Facebook Hacker-cup, Google Code Jam, Codechef Snackdown, TCS Codevita, Hackerearth Collegiate Cup and various others. Students of our club have represented DA-IICT at various such competitions. Programming club continuously strives to uphold and further raise the bar for the programming capabilities of students at DA-IICT.

    Music Club

    The Music Club of DA-IICT aims to develop an interest in students towards music and create a healthy music atmosphere amongst the student community. To achieve this purpose, we organise various ‘Acoustic Nite Lives’ for the students to perform with their friends or other music enthusiasts. We also form teams to compete in various music competitions in the annual cultural festivals of various prestigious institutes throughout the year. One of the major events which we perform in is the Ragnarock. Apart from this, we strive to organise various informal jamming sessions where a group of students just gets together and sings its heart out. The sole vision of the Music Club is to keep the music taste, talent and atmosphere alive in the music enthusiasts of DA’s student community and to provide platforms to nurture this talent.

    DA-IICT Theatre

    DAIICT Theatre Group, aka DTG, is a club that conducts and administers theatrics events of DAIICT. There are no bounds to the form of theatre that we perform, having ventured through stage plays, nukkad natak, mime, mono-acting, mimicries, musical plays, and what not, for which numerous learning and performing workshops are regularly conducted. We don’t only have performers, but also wonderful script writers, directors, composers, etc., but first, we are a group of crazy and dedicated learners. We live our hearts out on the stage. The club has always been equally enthusiastic to welcome the new faces as it is with present members. In fact the main essence of DTG is being an open club and thus it is a family to us rather than just a club. Life’s a stage and we all are actors.

    Research Club

    DA-IICT boasts of being a research-oriented institute and the Research Club aims to work to foster a community within the college for those interested in research. It works to help those interested in research, particularly starting at the Bachelor level; be it to find others working in similar areas or to organize on-campus seminars and other opportunities for students to get to know the kind of research that is prevalent. The Research Club would eventually like to be a small cog that enables the functioning of an active and interdisciplinary research community within DA-IICT.

    Chess Club

    Chess club focuses on enhancing the skills of the students having interest in chess. We provide them proper guidance about tactics and other aspects of the game ,We encourage them to develop their skills and provide them platform by conducting various tournaments and making them participate in inter college tournaments. Chess club focuses on enhancing the skills of the interested members having interest in chess.

    Sambhav

    “Sambhav means possible. Sambhav, at DA-IICT is a group of students with a motive or interest or urge to bring about some positive change in the society. Sambhav organises various activities throughout the year. Book Sale is one of our prime activities where we sell old unused books at heavily discounted prices to students who wish to purchase them. We organise visits to nearby Orphanage and Deaf and Dumb School. These visits make students aware of the society they live in, making them more attached to various sections of the society as well as generate a sense of responsibility and connectedness. Another major event which we organise is the Blood Donation Camp where we organise a camp in the college premise itself, giving an opportunity the young budding youth of today a chance to serve the society. Sambhav strives to develop a positive and empathetic attitude in students towards the society which they are or will be a part of. Sambhav grows, adopts and adapts dynamically, thus attaining the sense of ‘We Make It Sambhav’.”

    Photography and Movie Making Club

    PMMC or Photography and moviemaking club as the name suggest we are the photographer and video makers. We, as the members of the club, seek to display our love of photography through capturing our college’s events and festivals. To encourage people we organize Photo and Design Exhibitions, Photography walks, sessions on photography and film making, also tries to provide hands on sessions. PMMC strives to capture the happiest moments of our college life.

    Film Club

    By far the most celebrated club, the Film Club occupies a special place in every student’s heart. The club was started by a few ardent movie enthusiasts with the aim of providing regular entertainment to DA-IICTians in the form of interesting as well as enlightening cinema. The club screens a movie the night before every regular holiday (Saturdays and Sundays) and Screens Matches(Cricket, Football,etc) at the Open Air Theatre (OAT). The Film Club has a wide range of movies – 250 English, 170 Hindi and 25 Other, and is also continually being increased regularly. Bears ample testimony to the fact that the club can boast not only of quantity, but also of quality. Keeping all interests in mind, the club has something for each student of DAIICT. From ‘Shutter Island’ to ‘Guide’, from ‘3 Idiots’ to ‘Devdas’, the movies cater to multiple and varied backgrounds. DA-IICT students are not merely spectators but knowledgeable about cinema.

    Developer Student Club

    We’re a chapter of Google Developer Groups, which has numerous chapters all over the globe. DA-IICT is one of the very few colleges in India which has its own chapter. We are a group of technology enthusiasts who aim to inculcate a healthy developer culture in our college community, by acquainting people with the most essential and also the latest Tools and Technologies. Albeit our focus primarily revolves around technologies developed by Google, we do swim into other open source technologies such as Git and Beautiful Soup. We at GDG, welcome people who have passion for technology and want to develop something tangible.

    Khelaiya Club

    “Folk dance is where the culture breaths.” Khelaiya club- DAIICT provides a medium and platform to express through the art of folk dance and thus strives to keep the culture of folk dance alive. The khelaiya club organises workshops for the Garba enthusiasts to engage them in the subtle art of Garba during Navratri. The Khelaiya club also participates in various events throughout the year. We at Khelaiya club, desire to bring together people and help them live their dance dream.

    Cubing Club

    It is a community by and for people interested in solving Rubik’s Cube and its other cubic and non-cubic variants. We promote cubing by speedcubing sessions and organizing various competitions(general and WCA affiliated).

The college has all the necessary infrastructure for a Communication Design course. The library is a valuable resource, offering a good collection of design books, journals, and digital archives. However, access to international publications and updated materials could be enhanced.

In the laboratory, the equipment is old. Washrooms are not clean. Our classrooms are good and it also has air-conditioners. Laboratory and personal computers are very old. CEP building is good, and laboratory building is better. There are 3 main classrooms in our college. Laboratory manuals are also available.

12 science marks consider for daiict?

While admission to BTech programs is mostly determined by your JEE Main rank, your 12th grade science grades are taken into account for eligibility at DAIICT. You must have earned a 12th grade diploma in mathematics, physics, and one of the following subjects: biology, computer science, chemistry, or biotechnology. For the All India category, there is no minimum percentage needed, although passing the 12th grade is a requirement for admission.

DAIICT Gandhinagar Cutoff 2025

DAIICT Gandhinagar's expected JEE Main cutoff for 2025 will likely be similar to previous years, with a general closing home state rank of 300 for B.Tech Electronics and VLSI Design, 140 for B.Tech Information and Communication Technology, and 100 for B.Tech ICT with Minor in Computational Science and B.Tech Mathematics and Computing.
