NIT Uttarakhand (NIT UK) Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand established in 2010 has currently seven hostels for boys in its temporary campus at Govt. Polytechnic, Srinagar (Garhwal) Uttarakhand. Based on the principle of "Homes away from home", hostels available in the campus provide all the basic facilities to the students with proper care and tender of the administrative and supporting staff. Institute has residential facilities for eight hundred students in the campus. Institute has five boys hostels, having rooms available on sharing basis (four/six seater) accommodating maximum institute students in comfortable and conducive manner.

National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand has two hostels for girls in its temporary campus at Govt. Polytechnic, Srinagar (Garhwal) Uttarakhand. Based on the principle of "Homes away from home", hostels available on campus provide all the basic facilities to the students with proper care and tender of the administrative and supporting staff.

The library is equipped with e-books, journals, books, and much more. Research journals published by scholars around the world are also made available in the library for students and staff reference purposes. Internet connectivity is also provided in the library, and it is fully digitalised.

The conference hall has a seating capacity of 70 people, and it is used for conducting seminars, conferences, and workshops. Important speakers or guest speakers conduct their seminars in this hall.

Exercising and sporting activities help students to enhance their physical and mental health. Therefore, sports and gym facilities are provided by the institute to its students, and they are encouraged to make the fullest use of these facilities.

The institute provides proper medical facilities to students and staff in case of health emergencies. Medical officers and nurses are present in the medical office 24 hours to cater to the medical needs of the institute. Basic medical facilities are stacked up in the medical room for use.

The Council of Student Affairs is the students governing body that    organizes and regulates all student activities. It is responsible for    conducting various events of the Institute smoothly. It plans budgets,    nominates students commitee for various events, selects club executive    bodies, regulates proper functioning of the clubs and monitors all other    activities through its various meetings organized fortnightly. Six Clubs have to formed under CSA such as cultural and Fine Arts, Technical, sport, Literary, Film and Photography, Adventure Activity and Community Services. Each year all the executive and associate members of the various clubs are elected through personal interview. Elected members of the clubs coordinate all the students activity under their respective clubs successfully during their tenure. For the same faculty coordinators of all clubs are already appointed by the Competent Authority and Responsibility was given to them to select the executive and associate members from students. Following executive and associate members were submitted by the club coordinator for further approval.
