Osmania University Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility & How to Apply

Osmania University admissions are offered at three levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. Osmania University admission is both entrance and merit-based. For some courses, such as BA, B.Sc, and B.Com, marks in the qualifying exam will be considered for Osmania University admissions, whereas for others, the university considers the scores obtained in various entrance tests.

OU admissions to BPEd are made by the TS PECET. Admission to Osmania University in BEd is offered based on merit in the TS EDCET. Osmania University admissions to PG programmes are based on the performance of candidates in the entrance test CPGET, conducted by the university.

Osmania University Registrations 2026

• Candidates should visit the official site for the Osmania University application form 2025.

• Then, the candidates should fill in all the necessary details in the OU application form.

• OU admissions to BPEd are made by the TS PECET, and BEd is offered based on merit in the TS EDCET. 

• Osmania University admissions to PG programmes are based on the performance of candidates in the entrance test CPGET, conducted by the university.

• Thereafter, the candidates must upload the required documents such as mark sheet, TS EDCET and TS PECET scorecards, certificates and several other documents.

• Finally, the candidates have to pay the Osmania University application fees and submit the application form. 

Osmania University Application Fees 2026

The Osmania University application fee for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses is Rs 500. Furthermore, the application fee for the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET) is Rs 800 for General/OBC candidates and Rs 600 for SC/ST/PH candidates. There is an additional fee of Rs 450 for each additional subject.

• The authorities will release the TS PECET cutoff. 

• Candidates qualifying for the Osmania University TS PECET cutoff 2025 for the BPEd programme will be able to participate in the counselling process.

• The final selection is based on the candidates’ performance in TS PECET, counselling, verification of documents and payment of the fees.

The university offers MA, MSc, MCom, MLibISc, MPEd, MSW and many more at the postgraduate level. Admissions to postgraduate and postgraduate diploma programmes are offered based on the performance of candidates in CPGET. Therefore, candidates must appear for CPGET. Note: Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) can apply for the PGECET exam. Moreover, candidates who have valid scores in GATE can also apply for admission. Candidates can follow the TS PGECET syllabus and exam pattern to prepare for the exam.

• Candidates who are willing to appear for the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET) must meet the eligibility criteria.

• The university will release the CPGET application form for their OU entrance exams. Eligible candidates must fill out the CPGET application form in an online mode and must pay the application fee.

• The result of CPGET is released in an online mode. Candidates who want to check the CPGET result can download the rank card through the web portal of Osmania University.

• Candidates qualifying for CPGET need to attend the counselling session.

• Osmania University PG admission process includes appearing for CPGET, participation in counselling, verification of documents and remittance of the admission fee.

Osmania University PhD Admission Process 

• Candidates willing to be admitted to PhD at Osmania University must fulfil the course requirements prescribed according to the OU entrance exams.

• Eligible candidates need to appear for Ph.D Eligibility Test in the subject they wish to pursue Ph.D.

• Candidates awarded a research fellowship, either through a national-level test conducted by national-level organisations such as ICAR / ICMR/ DBT or by a national-level organisation (such as DST-INSPIRE fellowship) or Teacher Fellowship applicants, subject to clearance by the Dean, CDC, OU OR  qualified in the UGC-NET/CSIR UGC NET/SET-TS/AP/SLET/JEST/GATE /GPAT examination are exempted from the Ph.D eligibility Test.

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Eligibility Test and will be notified for an interview. Also, they need to submit a research proposal.

• The final selection will be made based on the Ph.D. Eligibility Test, interview, verification of documents and payment of the fees.
