Academics are very good here. The course curriculum is well updated here. The faculty are also very helpful, qualified ,knowledgeable. Quality of teaching is good. The courses are relevant. The semester exams are easy for some courses like non core courses and for core courses the exams are not to difficult and not too easy. Pass percentage is good. There are high chances of no backlog.
I am studying in Electrical Engineering(ICT). It's a new branch that is started this year. Professors of IITH are the one's who have done Phd from the top universities of the world. The professor student ratio is great here. Our professors are quite young: average age of professors here is 35 yrs. The curriculum is well updated here. It changes every year if required according to the new coming technology.
I am in first year I will not able to comment on this topic but In first year most teacher Study via slide that might make you bore but teachers has awesome knowledge but I think they are not able to communicate with students greatly You can also take any subject after 2 sem as additional if you want .

The cut off for IIT Hyderabad for mechanical branch is usually between 4k and 5k but it's safer to be in this range . Additional to this, if you are from reserved category then you have better chances of getting into this college.
The cut offs depends on certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the paper.
