Hey Khursheed:)

Thanks for reaching out!

With a 189 rank in TS LAWCET under BC-E your chances depends on the course .For the 3-year LLB at Osmaina University, the round 1 cutoff was around 210,so your rank is well within range and you still stand a good chance of getting a seat in the next rounds if not allotted. But for 5-year LLB course, the cut-off was around 100, which means 189 is outside the limit and Osmania is not within reach.

Keep Osmaina on top of your web options for the 3-year program in phase-2,but also select other good colleges as backups so you don't miss out on admission.

Hello,

Osmania University does not issue an equivalence certificate for degrees from other universities.
In such cases, you can approach the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) or the concerned university/authority where you are applying for admission.
They will verify your degree and confirm if it is valid for admission.
You may need to submit your degree, marks memos, and LAWCET rank card for verification.

Hope it helps !

Hello Aspirant,

Osmania University (OU) and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) are two well-respected universities in Telangana in the field of Civil Engineering. Ultimately, which university you choose will depend on your specific interests and preferences:

  1. Osmania University(OU): Osmania University is a well-known heritage University with established professors and academics. This university option is worthwhile if you are looking for a more research-based, traditional university environment.
  2. JNTU Hyderabad: JNTU is another good option for Civil Engineering, as it boasts good infrastructure, good curricular that is lined-up with practical and focus-based industry practicals in the construction and public sector industries. In some scenarios, JNTU is the first choice of college for students looking to get placed (or for students looking to take up jobs in the technical fields).

If you are prioritizing research, or intending to carry on to further studies, you should choose OU. If you are looking for a more industry-ready, job-focused skill set, JNTU may be the right choice.

Based on past trends, ECE at OU is highly competitive, especially in the general category where cutoffs usually close within the top 600–700 ranks. However, for reserved categories like BCC, the cutoff rank can extend further—often up to 7000 or slightly beyond, depending on the number of applicants, seat availability, and category-wise distribution.

Given your rank of 6576 under BCC, your chances are moderate to good for ECE at OU in the second round, especially if:

  • Some higher-ranked candidates opt for other colleges or branches

  • Additional seats become available due to withdrawals

  • You list OU ECE as your top preference during choice filling

Still, it's advisable to keep backup options ready in case you don't get a seat in OU.
