Government Model Engineering College Thrikkakara offers admissions to candidates through policies and procedures overseen by the Telangana State Directorate of Technical Education. MEC Thrikkakara admissions into BE/BTech programmes are given based on KEAM scores. MEC Thrikkakara admissions are offered in full-time mode.
MEC Thrikkakara admissions into ME/MTech programmes are given based on GATE scores. For NRI admission at MEC Thikkakara, separate applications are invited by Model Engineering College and a rank list is prepared based on the qualifying examination and students are admitted from this rank list.

Note: Students belonging to the Diploma Stream and students belonging to the B.Sc. stream are required to pass the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first-year Engineering program along with the second-year subjects.
