Hi dear candidate,

Yes, you can definitely get admission in B.Tech Civil Engineering if you have completed diploma in civil engineering with a good score of 82.30% but it is generally possible with lateral entry which is directly in B.Tech 2nd year.

The best colleges for B.Tech lateral entry are:

  • VIT Vellore
  • NITs
  • Amity Noida
  • Manipal University

B.Tech Lateral Entry - Eligibility, Courses, Duration, Entrance Exams

ALL THE BEST !

Hello Rohit,

Yes, you can apply for JEE Main in 2026 with your diploma. But keep in mind:

  1. That JEE Main is for those diploma holders wanting to qualify for JEE Advanced, not direct admission into IITs.
  2. That your Class 12 pass-out year (2021) does not stop your JEE Advanced attempts if you are going the diploma route. JEE Advanced allows diploma holders to attempt it. However, the Advaced route is only for admission through clearing JEE Advanced - not through JEE Main ranks.
  3. If you clear the JEE Advanced then you can get admission in IITs, but it would be as a first year (1st year B.Tech) - there is no lateral entry for IITs.
  4. There shouldn't be any problems with your 12th pass-out year, since diploma holders are considered separately for JEE Advanced eligibility.

Most universities don't allow lateral entry into B.Sc Agriculture after diploma. You must take fresh admission through entrance exams like ICAR AIEEA or state-level exams.

Admission to Diploma in Electrical Engineering is usually through entrance exams like Polytechnic exams or merit-based selection. Apply via state technical boards.

Yes, you can apply for JEE Main in 2026. Candidates can attempt JEE Main within 3 years of passing Class 12 , so you're eligible until 2025 and also in 2026 , as your diploma does not affect this eligibility.
