Will I be eligible to give UGC net exam after completing one year M.A from a university in UK?

Nitin Kumar 1st May, 2024

UGC considers degrees from universities recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).  For confirmation, it is best to  directly contact the UGC or check their website for a list of recognized universities.

The standard UGC NET eligibility criteria require a Master's degree completed within two years of the exam date.

I got 89.4 percentile in JEE main 2024 which nit

Sajal Trivedi 1st May, 2024

Hello aspirant,

With your JEE Main score considerably below the previous year's cutoff for general category students, eligibility to apply to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is unlikely. Considering the exam's high difficulty level and stringent cutoffs, gaining admission to these top colleges would be challenging at this percentile.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

I did ug in zoology and now am pursuing masters in nutrition course.I wanted to do PhD, so which exam should I give ? Please help

Nitin Kumar 1st May, 2024

With your background in zoology and your current Master's in nutrition, you have a strong foundation for a PhD in nutrition.

There are two main types of exams you might consider for PhD programs in India.

  • UGC NET (National Eligibility Test): This exam is conducted by the UGC (University Grants Commission) for eligibility as a college or university Assistant Professor. While not strictly a requirement for PhD programs, qualifying UGC NET demonstrates your research potential and makes you eligible for fellowships.

  • CSIR-UGC NET: Conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), this exam is similar to UGC NET but focuses on science streams. Qualifying can make you eligible for research fellowships from CSIR labs.
