Course Details

The Biotechnology and Intellectual Property Law certification course by IIT Kharagpur is provided by the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law. This course aims to shed light on the interdisciplinary approach between the field of Biotechnology and Intellectual Property Law. It has been designed to provide the learners with an insight into Intellectual Property Laws with a focus on patents. This course will give the learners detailed knowledge about the role of patents in the world of biotechnology.
They will understand the stages of patents, when protection of invention/research can be initiated, the long-term benefits of patents and how IPR is helpful for entrepreneurship. They will be capable enough to understand what can actually be patented, and the complexities arising around patents, and protect their novel research/invention with the Biotechnology and Intellectual Property Law training.
Eligibility Criteria
Work experience
Candidates who are working as faculty members in institutes that are AICTE-QIP approved or are Research Fellows, Postdoc Fellows, Ph.D. Students, Biotech personnel, or Life sciences personnel can apply for this programme.
Education
Candidates should have completed a Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Lifesciences or any other related area in order to pursue the Biotechnology and Intellectual Property Law certification by IIT Kharagpur.
Certification Qualifying Details
Participants who complete the entire programme will get the certificate of completion.
