      Heritage Institute of Engineering (HIT), Kolkata provides admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the institute. HIT Kolkata admissions requires candidates to qualify in an entrance exam followed by a counselling round. 

      • Admissions at HIT Kolkata are offered to the students in the basis of their performance in qualifying and entrance examinations.

      Heritage Institute of Technology Registrations 2026

      • Candidates have to register through the admissions portal on the official website of Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata.

      • Then, candidates have to fill up the HIT Kolkata admission form with the correct details.

      There are a total of 25 specialised programmes at the UG level in the B.Tech, B.Des, and B.Tech lateral entry degree courses, which are offered for a duration of  4 years. Students must have a valid JEE Main or WBJEE score to apply for HIT Kolkata admission to the B.Tech courses.       • Candidates must meet the HIT Kolkata admission eligibility for the courses,

      • 80% of seats are to be filled through WBJEE, 10% through JEE(Main) and the rest of 10% are reserved under Management Quota,

      • Additional 10% seats for lateral entry in the 2nd year for diploma and B.Sc degree holders through JELET conducted by WBJEE Board,

      • Candidates have to qualify in the entrance examination and acquire a decent rank,

      • Heritage Institute of Technology cutoffs will be released after the declaration of results of the entrance tests,

      • Candidates meeting the required Heritage Institute of Technology cutoff percentile may proceed with the WBJEE counselling round,

      • Candidates have to select Heritage Institute of Technology as their preferred college during the choice fillings,

      • Seats will be allotted to the candidates based on the choice fillings and scores of the entrance exam,

      • Candidates may verify their documents at Heritage Institute of Technology campus and pay the HIT Kolkata admission fees to confirm their allotted seats.

      • Candidates who meet the Heritage Institute of Technology admission eligibility criteria can apply for the B.Des course.

      • HIT Kolkata admissions to the B.Des programme are done based on the performance of the candidate in the previous qualifying examinations.

      • The candidates will be selected based on their performance and merit scores.

      • Candidates meeting the needed cutoff ranks may proceed with the WB JECA counselling round.

      The academics are decent, but students need to do self-learning and skill development (like coding, internships, etc.) to become fully industry-ready. The academics are decent for Chemical Engineering, but improving practical exposure and industry-oriented learning would make it much better.

      College Infra

      The campus is well-developed and includes modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a central computer centre with hundreds of systems and internet access, which supports practical learning and project work. the college has good infrastructure and provides most of the necessary facilities, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for learning and student life.

      Campus Life

      The campus is green and well-maintained with good infrastructure and labs. Best features include library and sports; worst is limited large fests. Students join clubs, sports, events. Students are friendly and cooperative, teachers are mostly helpful, and staff is supportive. The location is good, safe, and well-connected, making commuting easy.

      Placements

      Around 80% students are placed, with highest package up to ₹1.13 crore, mainly in CSE/IT. Average salary was around ₹4.5–5 LPA. The placement process was smooth, and the college was supportive with training and guidance.

      I am studying Chemical Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology because it offers good career opportunities and practical knowledge. Teaching quality is good, with supportive faculty and modern labs, though some students feel it varies. Yes, the curriculum is updated as per recent guidelines and includes modern topics like safety, simulation and emerging technologies, but some improvements are still needed.

      Yes, my college has good infrastructure with well-equipped labs, classrooms, library, Wi-Fi, and basic facilities needed for learning Classrooms are well-equipped, labs modern, library rich, good sports facilities and clean hostel. Facilities are well-maintained, living spaces are clean, and food is hygienic and good quality.
