College infrastructure is well organised here. Recently there was an NBA visit and the infrastructure was redesigned by the college. All the facilities and equipment available here Laboratory is medium and Wi-Fi may sucks you and sometimes PC in the laboratory too .IEM has 3 main building Aashram, Gurukul and Management so you can say there is no much sports centre however there is basketball and footsal grounds here. Yes , you can say IEM is too clean and all foods are hygienic in the canteen.
I'm enrolled in B.Tech degree and currently in 4th year. If you love academics then IEM may fit with your attitude. In IEM, there are too many and all necessary subjects are there in the each sem and all of them are well organised. I would rate it 4.5/5.
Best things about IEM is it's placement. I think after Jadavpur it is one of best college in the East India in placement. Oracle, Accenture like company visit every year. More than 90% students get hired from here every year. So you can say it will be good if you are looking a college with high placement offers. Since my placement is about to start so i can't say exactly what avarage salary offers here but from previous year i estimated for CSE it can be around 8-10 on avarage.
A little bit high sem fee at my time it is 70k per sem excluding Hostel. But now it is around 75k per sem. But i think it worth it boz of it's high placement percentage.
If you are academic loving guy then you will love it otherwise i doubt. But there are too many cultural fest is arranged by college and students community every year. You will have a great experience with working staff. But less with teachers and students.
Overall i would rate it a good college.
Our college is well equipped and has experienced faculties. Every gadgets and lab equipments are well maintained. There are digital classroom and 24/7 library facilities. Living space is clean and canteen food is hygienic.
I am currently pursuing B.Tech. in CSE. I want to be a software engineer. The faculties are highly qualified. The curriculum is updated and they are trained us for placement from second year. Faculty also preparing us for GATE.
The quality of placements at my college is very good. Placement is going on until and unless every student gets at least one offer. Avarage CTC is around 8 lpa and highest offer was given by GOOGLE last year.
Infrastructure of our college is good, campus area is not only 3 acre but they maintain the campus very well. Classroom is also well maintained, hostel facility is very good, basketball court is also inside the campus, mess food is also, wifi is also across the campus.
Being private college and one of top college of WBJEE, quality of teaching is very good, all teachers are graduated from top colleges of India. If you study well, teachers support you and you will definitely placed in good company.
Placement is also good in our college, approx 4-5 average package. In our college cs,it and ece is very good branch and these branch provides better placement especially for cs it branch. College always supports and provides on campus placement very well.
Yes, college is worth it for cs,it and ece branch only because in 4 your total cost for studying is around 5.5 lakh and average package is around 5 lakh, so our college is valued for money.
Campus life is average because campus is not big, not proper sports facilities but location is good. Our college is in urban area and it is safe for students.
Our college has separate building where different streams are taught. the library is open foe all students 24*7 and provide us with books . There are two canteens in each respective buildings. The food is very hygienic . The classrooms are quite big in well condition.
Presently I am studying CSE department, the curriculum is updated . Since 2018 the college has autonomous, yet the first and second year are under MAKAUT. Teachers here are very qualified and helps a lot during academic sessions and job placements . The college also provide us with the necessary books that we need for every semesters. Yes the things we learn here in IEM makes us job-ready.
Well, I am not really looking for placements since I would like to go for future studies. Just like to say Education is important , if you educate yourself properly with good knowledge then of course you will get a job with sophisticated income. And to ensure that you get all kinds of support and information to get good education the professors , senior , teachers all of them are there.
No doubt IEM is best in terms of return of investment . Can one imagine just paying 70k per semester for a Batch degree for one of the best institutes in India. With in 6k one is receiving quality education with a job starting from 10 Lpa for CSE/IT stream. It is really a student friendly college.
The campus life here in IEM is really fun. No cases of discrimination with progressive people around you. A lot of fests are organized and even the first years are given the opportunity to actively participate in them. There is a unique vibe inside the campus and the college life is really worth it.
Its one of the best college here in Kolkata and have a very good infrastructure with all the necessary facilities required.
Yes, the college infrastructure is good and well maintained. There are auditoriums where the students are taught. There are libraries which provide us books and the hostel students at any point of time can go and study there. Smart boards and wifi facilities are available within the college campus. The food provided by the canteen is very hygienic. Labs are well equipped with all the necessary modern equipment. Hostels are well furnished and clean.
IEM especially provides language laboratory for students to help them improve their vocabulary skills. I am persuading B.tech in CSE from IEM. The teachers are quite qualified and very helpful. The first and second year are under MAKAUT hence the syllabus is updated in my department. Yes the quality of education that we get here and the regular lab classes make us job-ready.
The quality of the placement is A grade. From CSE and IT department the placement 100%. The highest placement is 12 Lpa in core branch and 8-9 lpa in other branches. The teachers help us a lot before and during placement by taking test and small internal interviews sessions.
We(2020-24batch) pay 70k per semester, which is very cheap if we compare to other colleges. With such a less investment we get quite a good placement of average 8-9 lpa. I personally feel that the money is worth giving since the placement is very certain.
Due to lockdown we could not attend offline classes but the seniors are very friendly and helpful. The college conducts various cultural, traditional, as well as tech fests were students can participate and show their skills. There are many clubs like quiz, rotary , photography, singing etc, the students spend a gala time over there and make new friends.
In WBJEE the students who rank high get opportunity to be part of this college. From first year onwards we are given internship opportunities to experience hands on work. We are trained via many exams so that we can clear all our doubts and perform well to get a good job.
The college campus is spacious and there are many buildings like Management, Gurukul buildings. There are libraries in each building. The campus is very hygienic and well maintained. Our college provides language laboratories which is very helpful for us.
I am studying in CSE (2020-2024) and the quality of teaching is quite good. Our college provides internship opportunities so that we can experience in real life. The teachers take a lot of extra classes for doubt clearing. The teachers as well as the seniors are very friendly and helpful.
IEM Kolkata is known for its good placemnent and records 100% placement for CSE and IT department. Renounwed companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemeni, IBM, Tech Mahindra and so on come for picking talents with an average package of 10 to 12 lakhs per aannum
The fee structure of the college for B.Tech. courses according to 2020 is 70,000 INR per semister. It is a very good investment according to me and quite cheap compared to other private colleges. Just by investing 70 K we get maximum package of 10 lakh which is very appreciating.
Since I am a student of 1st year and due to lockdown we couldnot attend offline classes, but, the campus life is certainty joyous. There are a lot of clubs like Rotaty Club, Innovation lab, Quiz Club, etc. and college organises a lots of fests.
From the 1st year onwards we are given opportunities to work and experience from real life through internship and various curriculum. And also before sitting for placement they help us via taking tests and via other means.
Yes our college have all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipments.Smart boards are available, doubght clearing sessions are held regularly. Library is open 24*7 and any student can use the library at any time. Indoor and outdoor games options are also available and everything is well maintained.Yes hostels are very clean even I am a hostel student and food is very hygienic.
I am pursuing B.tech in CSE from IEM as I want to know more about the subject and want to start a won company. We have very well qualified teachers who teaches us with great care and help us to grow more in all sectors.Yes the curriculum is well update and include all the recent developments in the fields of it sector and coding.Yes it's a professional course and our teachers from the beginning help us to get well prepared so that when companies come we are ready to persue the jobs .
Good placement and jobs offers are available in IEM. Around 80percent of the students from IEM got placed in last year.As I am new in the college I am not sure of the highest package but it was above 50L per annum. The student was from IT. Average salary offered in IEM is around 8lakhs per annum. College is very supportive and placement process is easy but I know very less about it as I am in 1st year.
1.4L per year is the costing of B.tech course. Yes the money is really worth it as because the teachers are great and very supportive.Classes are very interactive and doubght clearing classes are held regularly.
It has one of the best campus in KOLKATA. IEM has a very good infrastructure outdoor games like basketball golf and cricket are being played. Indoor games such as quiez and coding competition are also being held. The staff and teachers are very supportive. Yes IEM is located in a posh locality with all the emergency facilities available nearby.
YES
Great college, infrastructure at par with other top colleges in the country. Big classrooms, fully equipped lab. Clean and well maintained college building. Labs are really good and the equipments are great.
College is really serious about academics. Even though there is pressure in the beginning, of students can cope with it, they can easily cope with the pressure in the future too. That being said, it's a really good college if you consider for higher education in the future.
No idea of placements, but as per the data of the previous batches, the placements are average and every student can easily get placed in those companies. Mostly IT companies come here for mass placement.
Besides the central library at the main campus, there are departmental libraries for each department. The campuses provide full wifi coverage, 24*7. There are huge well maintained sports grounds and an Open Air Theatre for hosting fests and cultural programmes. the university provides adequate hostel facilities for students coming from very long distances and multiple canteens spread across different parts of the campus provide high quality meals for students.
I'm pursuing my graduation in CSE with the intent to do research later. Personally, I liked the old syllabus more which provided much more depth into the understanding of the subject. That being said, the new syllabus is well aligned with both today's employment needs and higher studying prospects. Teacher-student discourse is remarkable given that autonomous institution.
Placements in engineering courses hover around 80% with students bagging jobs in MNCs and big companies at good average salary packages. Arts students usually pursue higher studies but those seeking placements receive fair support from the placement cell.
Since it's a private college, fees are a not nominal. To give an insight, the first year graduation fees for a student in CSE department was ₹140,000 aprox. in 2020.
Yes the college have a good infrastructure along with all the basic facilities and equipment required.Firstly the classroom is very interactive and we gave very good lab faculties also the lab classes are held dividing each section into halves so that it student could interact with the teachers and get proper knowledge of what is being taught.Yes smart boards are use during classes and we have a variety of indoor and outdoor sports that are being played.
I am persuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from IEM Kolkata.Te teachers and staff are very good here.I am persuing CSE as I want to develop something new and unique from the knowledge that I will get through the course.
The quality of placement is fair enough.Persentage of placement varies a lot in each year.Good average salary is being offered each year and as I have heard from the seniors many of them have recieved well paid jobs.
B.tech in CSE cost around 1lakh 40k per year in IEM.Yes to me it's worth it as the interaction with the teacher and the students is very good and they have extra doubt clearing classes along with a good library a computer labs and other labs are also good for work purposes and activities.
IEM Kolkata has one of the best campus. There is a basketball court in our campus and a mini golf ground.A lot of events and tech fest are also being held in our campus.Students can participate in different club activities different sports activities and a lot of tech fests.Teachers are very supportive and helpful. Our college is in a very posh area with all the basic facilities nearby and can handle emergency situation in shot time and is very safe .
IEM is one of the best college one can persue for any management and the technical courses in the city.
Hello Aspirant,
IEM Kolkata is a good college to pursue BTech. However, it is not the best. Colleges like Jadavpur University and KGEC are far better than IEM. Also, IEM is a private institute, and Jadhavpur and KGEC are government colleges. But, IEM is one of the best colleges in KOLKATA. If you are getting CS Branch you can definitely go for it.
Since, you have not taken the WBJEE exam, you have to get admitted to that college through the management quota. You can contact the college directly or go through counsellors. However, this method is not advisable . Many counsellors just go on bluffing people. So take your decision wisely.
