Formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology. MAKAUT is a public state university established by the Government of West Bengal in 2000. MAUKAT offers a total of 15 courses out of which 2 are UG courses, 12 are PG programmes and 1 doctoral programme. MAUKAT courses are offered across multiple streams like Engineering and Architecture, Computer Application and IT, Management and Business Administration and others. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAUKAT) has three schools through which the university offers courses namely School of Engineering & Technology (SET), School of Biotechnology & Biological Sciences (SBTBS) and School of Management.

The university offers 15 courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. MAKAUT courses are offered in full-time mode across multiple streams and branches. The university has different eligibility criteria that the students need to fulfil in order to apply to these courses for admission. The university offers admission to 15 courses at three levels; UG, PG and doctoral.. Some of the courses to which MAUKAT admissions are offered are B.Tech Information Technology, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, M.Tech Bioinformatics, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Genetics. Candidates desirous of taking admission in B.Tech programmes at MAKAUT must appear for WBJEE conducted by WBJEEB, whereas for M.Tech admissions except for M.Tech Biotechnology, candidates need to appear for PGET conducted by MAKAUT. Students willing to take admission in M.Tech Biotechnology need to appear for GAT-B. For Ph.D. admissions, candidates have to appear for the written test and interview conducted by the university.

Yes my colleage have almost all the necessity. Its infrastructure is well maintained, facilities are very good there are free wifi, free water and many other stuffs. As a bca student our college's laboratory is good enough, libraries are well maintained, they have all types of books. Playground is big and maintained. Their living places cleaned also.

It has the best infrastructure among wbjee colleges. There is everything provided and the hostel is also very good. One may have some food problem but everything else is good anyway. No state government college will have this good infrastructure
