    Dear Aspirant,

    A machine element used for holding/joining two or more parts of a machine is known as FASTENER. And the process of joining the parts is called as fastening. Fasteners are used primarily for creating non-permanent joints. There can be two types of fastening processes, namely Permanent & Temporary fastening.
