As per the AKTU management authority , UPSEEE/UPCET exam has been scrapped from the year 2021for B.Tech admissions. The admission criteria in B.Tech will be based on JEE Main scores .

If any seats remain after the JEE (Main) counselling and admission only in any one of these branches - Bachelor of Technology Biotechnology, BTech (BT)/Bachelor of Technology Agriculture Engineering, BTech (AG) offered by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University (AKTU), Lucknow, would be filled on the basis of the UPCET 2021 score.

UPCET is also for BArch, BDes, BPharm, BHMCT, BVoc, BFAD, BFA . The scores are used for admission to various courses offered by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Lucknow, Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT) Gorakhpur and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur.
