can i edit my passport details?
Hey Maan!
Yes, passport details can be edited. But there's a certain procedure that is to be followed.
To edit your passports date/place of birth, you must apply for a "Re-issue" and have the requested modification made to your personal information. Competent authorities may, however, request more documents then what is usually asked for. Each request for a change of date or place of birth would be reviewed, and if not found to be in order, the request might be denied.
For changing the address on the passport, the following documents must be submitted:-
- Old passport in original with self attested photocopies if it's first two and last two pages, including ECR/Non-ECR page
- Passport Issuing Authority Page of Observation (if any)
- Validity Extension Page(if any) in respect of short validity passport.
- Proof of current address
You may apply for a "Re-issue" of your passport and have the necessary change in personal particulars made to alter your gender or your father or mother's name. Each case would be reviewed, and requests may be denied if they were not determined to be in order.
If you have found any mistake in your printed online form, then you should ask the Citizen Service Executive (CSE) at Counter-A at Passport Seva Kendra(PSK)/Post Office Passport Seva Kendra(POPSK) to make the necessary modifications in the application form.
Hope it helps!
