College Entrance Exam based on the merit of the Engineering colleges
Hello aspirant,
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which consists of JEE Main (for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs) and JEE Advanced (for the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology), is the main entrance exam for merit-based admission to engineering institutes in India. The BITSAT (for BITS Pilani campuses), VITEEE (for Vellore Institute of Technology), and state-level examinations like MHT CET and KCET are additional prestigious merit-based tests.

Hello
Engineering college admissions are usually based on entrance exam scores.
In Karnataka, KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is the main exam for government and private colleges.
Your rank in KCET decides which engineering colleges and branches you are eligible for.
Colleges have cutoff ranks for each branch based on previous years’ trends.
Higher-ranked students get admission into top colleges like RVCE, BMSCE, and UVCE. Some colleges also accept COMEDK, JEE Main, or management quota admissions.
Merit-based counselling is done by KEA, depending on your marks and seat availability.
