Hello,

Forest Research Institute Dehradun offers M.Sc. program in various disciplines like Forestry, Wood Science and Technology, Environment Management  and Cellulose and Paper Technology.

Eligibility Criteria is that candidates should have completed master’s degree in the relevant field with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

Admission is based on entrance test conducted by FRI.

On the basis of entrance scores, candidates are shortlisted for further counselling proedure.

Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in the Entrance Test in order to be eligible for final admission.

The entrance exam is 0f 3 hour duration with the following subjects-

Basic Science with Social Sciences of 100 marks ,

General Knowledge and Current Affairs of 30 marks,

English of 30 marks and there is arithmetic and quantitative ability, computational ability,quantitative reasoning and interpretation of tables and graphs of 40 marks.

There is negative marking of 1/4 marks for each incorrect one.

FRI also conducts exam for PhD admission, and it based on merit of UGC NET/GATE or entrance exam by FRI.

The entrance exam will be of 200 marks for the duration of three hours. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview where they will be required to propose their area of interest. The test will consist of 50% marks each from Research Methodology and Subject-Specific Knowledge

Students with at least 30% marks in Section B will be considered as qualified in the Entrance Test. Overall qualifying marks for General are 50% while 45% for SC/ST/ PWD and OBC-NCL.
