to get a admission in SRM, the university seperately conducts the test SRMJEE.....basing on your qualifying mark you can get the seat. The university offers around 7000 seat among all of its 4 campuses.

You have to appear for entrance exams after 12th .
the scores at 12th and entrance shall be the criteria of your selection for a particular branch .
Get 65% or 75%+ in pcm (board marks) depends on the campus. I think it is 65% for Ramapuran and Vadapalani and 75% for KTR. Get a good rank in SRMJEE to get the course of your choice in category A. If not you can opt for category B (higher fees)

SRM University Institute of Science and Technology gives admission to a candidate in Engineering on the basis of marks scored in SRMJEE Entrance Exam which is conducted by SRM Institute itself.
This institute doesn't give admission on the basis of marks scored in JEE exam.
