As you mentioned that you want to do software engineering or IT. Look there are lot college where you can apply, however, if you need to know which place you should go, you need to follow few things which are as follows.

First thing first, try to read more reviews of other students or alumnae of the college of your choice. This will help you to know more about the college education system and placements. 

Now as you know Bangalore is also known as the silicon valley of India. So opportunities for CSE and IT students are very high. A CSE or IT fresher can get a job more easily in Bangalore than in Pune. Pune does have some good colleges and placement are also decent. However most of the Automobile and Mechanical companies are based in Pune, so an opportunity for Mechanical, Electrical etc are more there.
