I got mechanical production branch in Thapar which I opt at preference No.7 but I want to take electrical engineering which I opt at preference No.8. Is it possible can I choose in declining preference however I am eligible for both the branches as per cut offs marks.

Dear Aspirant,

Counselling procedure gives highest preference to the branch listed at the top. Since you have mechanical at the top you have got mechanical. If you want to change that, either change the preference order in the coming rounds, and if there is no round available then you can either wait for the special round or contact the administrative department about availability of the seats.
