The scale of pay for these posts varies from Rs. 15,000 -39,000 plus other allowances.

Initially it will be less salary for BHMS doctors in government setup. But slowly they can pick up. They can give examinations of their departments and advance from one level of pay to the other.

BHMS doctors can earn well in private institutions. The scale of pay will vary between Rs. 10,000 – 20,000 per month. This will be even more if the BHMS doctor is interested in private practice or if they set up their own clinic. Then there is no limit as the doctor can even earn up to Rs.1 lakh per month and in some cases more than that.

After BHMS, one can find high paying jobs in developed countries like US and UK. It has been found that BHMS doctors are paid comparatively more than in India. But comparisons cannot be made as India is still a developing country. There are more specializations in the developed countries. Also research and development happens mostly in developed countries.
