JEE MAINS offers a maximum of 3 attempts. The first attempt is count on the year of your 10+2, the second attempt and third attempt can be give in the consecutive years of 10+2.
So a candidate is eligible for the JEE MAINS in 10+2, 1st year post 10+2, 2nd year post 10+2. So yeah! The JEE MAINS can be given in the 2nd year of BTech provided you satisfy the condition that you haven't attempted all three attempts and there are no year gap after your 10+2.
