Let's say a candidate got into NIT-T CSE branch.Did he make a mistake by not joining one of the IITS(lower branch)?

I would congratulate them on getting into NIT Trichy, because it is a dream for many people.
I would say it is purely based on their priorities so it can’t be said as a wrong choice or moreover as a mistake. But on the professional front you meant NIT-T CSE is better than any IIT CS branch then,
- The average package offered for NIT-T CSE is 10 to 12 Lakh p.a.
- For IIT-B the average salary went was of 27 Lakhs, with the highest paid was 1.9 cr INR p.a.
- For IIT-G the average salary offered was of 15 Lakhs
- For IIT Khargapur the average salary is 26 Lakh p.a., the highest could be 1.5 cr approx.
- For IIT Madras the package varied from a starting of 7 L p.a. to a whopping 95.87 Lakhs p.a.
Based upon the fees:
- NIT T 5.77 Lakhs p.a.
- IIT-B 8.46 Lakhs p.a.
- IIT-G 10.28 Lakhs p.a.
- IIT Khargapur 10.63 Lakhs p.a.
- IIT Madras 8.82 Lakhs p.a.
The average packages are almost about the same, but the highest packages are not; and with the right amount of hard work and dedication one could make it theirs.
They should not feel down or disheartened thinking that they took a wrong choice, but rather they should make their choice feel and look like the correct choice in all aspects. That person is about to begin their journey, so the leash is in their hands, and it’s totally upon them to make this choice worth it.

There are no mistakes, if a person joins in the branch he likes and he will have a good future, else if he choose the college by compromising with branch then he may face trouble in future.,
If a candidate likes to do production engineering and he got cse at nit and PE at iit then he can choose PE, but if he joins without any interest by thinking that he can slide to another branch, he may face alot of problem in future, because it's not sure that he can slide and it's not that much easy to slide at iit

Like if he is very much good/interested at physics he may prefer branches related to that,
But if he is poor at physics and take electrical engineering at iit instead of cse at nits just to join iit is literally a big mistake., unless he is ready to accept the theory and course.
