Mechanical is mothe rof all brnaches and has hummongous scope across roles like supplychain, Quality management, transportation, Metallurgy, product management, Mining, Automotive, etc.
With make in India initiative it has brought in tremendous potential for young engineers.
Aeronautical is nich ebrnach and is narrowly focussed on shuttle and spacecraft management, Rocket dynamics, fleet management, aerodynamic, etc.
Overall job opportunities are lumitedbut has higher payscale due to premium opportunities with brands like HAL, ISRO, BOEING, NASA, LOCKHEED MARTIN.
Hence, both are great but Mechanical engineering has na edge.
