With a rank of around 4,00,000 in the general category, it becomes difficult to secure a seat in the NIT's when comparing the results of previous years. Last year, even for the low ranked NIT's, the closing ranks were around 40,000. However you can go through the following link to know about the cut off's and ranks for the previous years and calculate your chances of selection

Through JEE main score, there are no colleges in which you might get admission to. But, if you have applied for TNEA counseling, then you can get colleges affiliated to Anna university based on the marks scored in hsc examination.
