The improvement examinations result will be published in a different marksheet.  You will then have two score sheets that is one class 12th regular marksheet and a different one for your improvement exam. The improvement exam marksheet will only have your chemistry marks since you have only written the exam for chemistry and the marksheet will have 'APPEARED FOR IMPROVEMENT' written on it. The improved marks will be considered. If your scores are not improved its okay but you may be asked to produe both the mark sheets if demanded by your institution in which you are getting admitted.
