Percentile is a measure used in indicating the value below which a given % of people in a group of people falls. If your son has a percentile of 80 in his score card then it means that he scored more than 80% people who appeared for the test. Or conversely it means 20% people scored more than he did. So if his percentile is above 80, he will be in top 20 percentile. Hope this answer helps your son.
