Hello there,
The following documents are required for counselling process :

Study certificate of 1 to 10th class
Study certificate of class 11 & 12.
Transfer certificate of class 10 and 12
Conduct certificate
Additional passport Size photos.

You should have original copies and 4 copies of attested copies for every counselling process.

Do I need a residence certificate? And what attestations do I need on my documents?

You should get a domicile or residence certificate for your school and college study place. You must xerox original copies and attest them by your principal or any higher officer. Attesting means they would sign the given paper.
