EWS is a reservation that is applicable across all ademic and Employment sectors. Regarding Medical Colleges, every Government Medical College will follow 10% EWS reservation as this is a Government ruling. Abd MCC had also approved increase of seats accordingly to accomodate EWS reservation. Now coming to the Private Medical Colleges part, not many agreed to this reservation because it eats into their Management Quota. And that is the main source of fees for Private Medical Colleges. And not every Private Medical College qualifies for EWS reservation due to infrastructure or recognition issues.For example in Telangana, though there are 22 Private Medical Colleges, only 15 were willing to accomodate this reservation. Only 10 Private Medical Colleges qualify to accomodate EWS reservation. So though Private Medical Colleges also have to accomodate it, not every Private Medical College qualifies for the same. In Tamilnadu Self Finance colleges aren't keen to accomodate thus reservation. And the deadline MCI has issued is for colleges to send proposals to accomodate EWS reservation. And the last date ended on 28th and only 10 colleges have sent proposals so far.
