    How is the Lens Maker's Formula derived?

    The formula is derived from the refraction of light at the two spherical surfaces of the lens. By applying the refraction equations at each surface and combining them, the formula 1 f = ( n − 1 ) ( 1 R 1 − 1 R 2 ) is obtained, which relates the lens's focal length to its curvature and refractive index.
