It depend on Rank of NIT. It also depend on Branch .average package of nit's is 5-6 lakh per annum.package depend on student if studeng have capabiltity to achive a organisation goal . then company gave a good package

It depends on the placement package offered by the company. It starts from approx 5 Lakh to 5 cr. Per annum. Psu offers around 12 lakh. Where as some core companies offers up to 50 lakh and higher packages are mainly offered by software base companies e.g. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Facebook, Amazon etc. but the main thing is that they select very few students, hardly 2/3 from each campus. The selection process includes around 10 brain storming rounds (technical and non-technical i.e. Aptitude, reasoning, data interpretation etc.). Average package in given by consultancies but these are mass recruiters for each campus.
So the basic salary depends on the company where a student got selected. Which in turn depends on skills a student had and work he is doing to improve these skills.
