the best way to prepare yourself is to:
- ensure that you know your brands and logos
- be updated with what is happening in the film and television industry
- read up about various famous directors, and their work
- general knowledge about colour, and basics of art would be helpful
- last of all work on your drawing, shading and colouring skills!! ( I was asked to draw an emotion like happy :) usually its something you would not expect to find in a visual communication paper!!!!
Some colleges do have a discussion, where they usually give you a topic to talk about. This is usually done to check your communication skills.
Finally once you cross the first 2 stages they will call you for an interview with your portfolio and school mark sheets and certificates. ensure that your best work. this can include any kind of medium even digital and photographs!! remember to include a few pieces of pencil shading, perspective and water colour and these show variety and also that you have a hold of these mediums.
Be confident and carry yourself well you will ace it, there is nothing to worry about.
