Hello,
Both Jee mains and Jee advanced are similar exams. They both have the same syllabus. But the main difference is the level of difficulty of the questions. The questions in JEE mains are quiet easier as compared to Jee advanced. In JEE mains the questions are mainly focused on fast thinking. But in JEE advanced the questions need critical thinking and analysis to solve.
Also with her mains you can get admitted to NITs , IIITs , GFTIs and other engineering colleges.
But with Jee advanced you get admitted into IITs
