If we are to go by ranks on several websites,

Then 

1) nit trichy

2) nitsuratkal

3) nit Warangal =mnit Allahabad.

In these colleges the placement scenario is good . Also they are having experienced faculty.

Also many mech students do non core jobs after Btech. 

So do consider that also. The above mentioned nits are having good non core placements also .

Hello alan, hope you are doing well.. as i searched about your question i found that NIT thiruchilapalli is one the best college ie: NIT college for doing the mechanical enginerring.. the college has good infrastructure and also good placements amd also good campus facilities..
