As of now there are 24 Medical Colleges in West Bengal. For the year 2019, 5 New Medical Colleges were started giving as many as 600 MBBS seats. The West Bengal Government has decided to set up 7 more Medical Colleges increasing the no.of MBBS seats to 4000 but that might not happen until 2021. So if you are enquiring about 2020-21, there are no New Medical Colleges for West Bengal. As of now, West Bengal has 850 MBBS seats from its 6 Private Medical Colleges and the rest 3000 are from its 18 Government Medical Colleges.
