Course Overview
TU Delft in collaboration with edX education has designed a certificate course on Open and Smart Government where it explores the processes, benefits, and challenges faced by governments as well as citizens for implementing the Open Government movement. The course will explore how governments can become more transparent and open but at the same time try to deal with several challenges related to data sensitivity. The students will be exposed to challenges solved in policy-making as well as explore algorithms and blockchain technology aiding this process.
The Open and Smart Government programme will explore the need for open government data in policymaking. The course will explore learning about the technology that will help in open government data. The Open and Smart Government certification course will run for a short duration of 4 weeks and is planned as an intermediate difficulty level program. The amount of effort required to put it at least for 4 to 7 hours a week and this is an instructor-led course with requirements and deadlines.
